Received mine today. I was skeptical about promag after hearing nothing but negative things over the years, but I bought it anyways. That was a mistake. The fuckin thing doesn't even lock into the magwell.

From what I've read online the Gen 2's are basically more low profile and have some other new features like a spring-locking front sight post and hash marks on the rear sight. i found a pretty good video comparing the two on youtube:

Other than wasting ammo what's the point?
"wasting ammo"? are you serious?
it's called shootin'
That's what I'm sayin.. what do you do with your S12? Sit at home and stare at it all day?
Nice video though, balls of steel.. would be sweet if you had an old car or something to shoot at

Thanks Tony for the intel. I was over here waiting for the price to drop down to $500. Now I'm just waiting for my paycheck.

Nice job bro
Thanks! My job took me to the town of Pahrump this morning. I know a little shooting area in the desert, on the way back I got to test this beast, I am stoked!!! The thing runs like a sewing machine.
Wally World, Fed Bulk on setting 2 - shot 100 rounds not one failure, from hip and shoulder! Put the shells in a nice pile about 5' away.
Opening up the gas ports works wonders

The retaining plate is a pain in the ass to install in my S12, its a tight fit so you gotta really work the safety in there with a lot of pressure.
With my Saiga rifles on the other hand, piece of cake.

Really? Well maybe it's one of the FFL's in this big fucking stack with no name on it.
That made me laugh

rubber mallet

3/32" which equals .093 I believe..get a cobalt 3/32 bit and open those ports up!

Hundreds of customers tell us that it works.
I know for sure that it looks bad ass
I've been curious for a while now, I have my shark brake mounted with the two ports facing upwards. I figure the gas coming out would help to counter muzzle rise, but on most pictures I seen online people have it mounted with the ports facing downwards.. which is the correct way?

I'm using a Tromix Shark Brake, it's a bad ass looking muzzle brake
The points are sharp as hell and I like to think they would have no trouble piercing right through somebody's forehead if need be.
There seems to be a little less recoil compared to shooting with no brake but it is a shotgun after all, so it could just be psychological..

Would also like to see pics of the carnage.

I am no expert, but I would say yes. If your gun cycles weak ammo on the 1 setting, it means there is enough gas going through the system to really pound your gun with the stouter ammo. The MD Arms gas plug is a cheap solution, since you are not going to be plugging any gas ports or making them smaller. The plug gives you five gas levels. The low gas settings should be enough to compensate for too much gas.
I think other people's advice will be close to mine, but wait and take it all in. Good luck.
+1
