I managed to get a Saiga 12 and just to be clear:
I live in FL now. I order to lawfully use my MD20 I have to do the conversion.
In 2 years I am moving back to NY (the wife demands it)...which means I can't convert it unless, maybe, I use that one special stock.
I can just get a telescopic stock and pin it permanently? And I can't have the MD20 in NY.
Stupid NY....
If my wife "demanded" to move to New York, I would promptly buy her a one way ticket!
Well, both of our families are there, and it is nice in the summer (live upstate), it's just the stupid fucking laws they have there. Well, that, and the taxes. And the car inspections......ugh...dear lord....
Come down to South Carolina, the other half of New Yorkers are already here

Well the one in Augusta was pricey. Saiga 12 in sporter config $900.00, Mosin's $100.00. No real deals on anything. Picked up 100 rounds of .45 Colt for $60 just because it's hard to get sometimes and felt the need to buy something. So $16 bucks for me and my daughter for the privilege to look, had a good time though so it was worth it.

If ya see a tall stupid looking doofus in a Springfield armory hat, that'll be me.

Please read below if you would like to know some facts about our entertainment industry:
Reality TV is not real.
Models don't actually look that good.
Your favorite actresses have personal trainers, plastic surgeons, and/or cocaine to look like they have the body of a starving 17 year old.
Criminals do not leaves semen, hair and blood at every crime scene.
One man with Special Forces training cannot wage a war and topple a country and/or occupying force by himself.
Knowing Kung Fu will not allow you to float in mid-air and defy physics.
Sorry, but I figured you should learn the truth sooner rather than later.
What about the Tooth Fairy?
Nah, she's legit:
Enjoy your nightmares.
Yeah but that's just one week a month

I have read the first two books of "The Gulag Archipelago". I am taking a break and reading "The Ultimate Sniper" by Maj. John L> Plaster, USAR (Ret.) Then, back to the last book of "The Archipelago."
That is an awesome book the Gulag.
Since I am new, I am reading the forums. Tons of good info here and it's funny too.

I for one would think it would be easier to get weapons in Mexico or to get them Imported from another country than to go from gun store to gunstore shopping then try to get them past the border via truck or boat. Not to toot my own gangsta horn but I am sure I know someone who knows someone who can get me what ever I like in town. Why would it be any different in the Cartel owned world of Mexico. I guess what I am saying is they dont have to come to the states to get guns.
Well its been quite awhile, But the last time I went across the southern border, the Mexicans could not care less about who or what was in the vehicle. Returning back north on the US side is were they will put your car on blocks if they think one of your hairs is out of place.
I say build a GITMO fence and have manned like they do in Cuba and be done with it. But that will never happen, sorry started day dreaming there..........

Your thinking to much, embrace the black nothingness so serene in it's simplicity. You can think when you wake up to the clammer of the world the next day.

One for the snipes
The Snipes' Lament
NOW EACH OF US FROM TIME TO TIME, HAS GAZED UPON THE SEA,
AND WATCHED THE WARSHIPS PULLING OUT, TO KEEP THEIR COUNTRY FREE.
AND MOST OF US HAVE READ A BOOK; OR HEARD A LUSTY TALE,
ABOUT THE MEN WHO SAIL THESE SHIPS; THROUGH LIGHTING, WIND AND HAIL.
BUT THERE'S A PLACE WITHIN EACH SHIP, THAT LEGEND FAILS TO TELL
IT'S DOWN BELOW THE WATERLINE, IT TAKES A LIVING TOLL
A HEATED METAL LIVING HELL THAT SAILORS CALL "THE HOLE".
IT HOUSES ENGINES RUN BY STEAM, THAT MAKES THE SHAFTS GO ROUND.
A PLACE OF FIRE AND NOISE AND HEAT, THAT BEATS YOUR SPIRITS DOWN.
WHERE BOILERS ARE THE HELLISH HEART, WITH BLOOD OF ANGRY STEAM;
THESE MOLDED GODS WITHOUT REMORSE, LIKE NIGHTMARES IN A DREAM.
THE ROARING FIRES POSE A THREAT LIKE LIVING LIFE IN DOUBT,
FOR AT ANY MINUTE WITHOUT SCORN, COULD ESCAPE AND CRUSH YOU OUT.
WHERE TURBINES SCREAM LIKE TORTURED SOULS, ALONE AND LOST IN HELL,
WITH ORDERS FROM SOMEWHERE ABOVE, THEY ANSWER EVERY BELL.
THE MEN WHO KEEP THE FIRES LIT, AND MAKE THE ENGINES RUN,
ARE STRANGERS TO THE WORLD OF LIGHT, AND RARELY SEE THE SUN.
THEY HAVE NO TIME FOR MAN OR GOD, NO TOLERANCE FOR FEAR,
THEIR ASPECT PAYS NO LIVING THING THE TRIBUTE OF A TEAR.
THERE'S LITTLE THAT MEN CAN DO, THAT THESE MEN HAVE NOT DONE,
BENEATH THE DECKS, DEEP IN THE HOLE, TO MAKE THE ENGINES RUN.
AND EVERY HOUR OF EVERY DAY, THEY KEEP THEIR WATCH IN HELL,
FOR IF THE FIRES EVER FAIL, THEIR SHIPS A USELESS SHELL.
WHEN SHIPS CONVERGE TO HAVE A WAR UPON AN ANGRY SEA,
THE MEN BELOW JUST GRIMLY SMILE AT WHAT THEIR FATE MIGHT BE.
THEY'RE LOCKED BELOW, LIKE MEN 'FORE DOOMED, WHO HEAR NO BATTLE CRY,
IT'S WELL ASSUMED THAT IF THEY'RE HIT THE MEN BELOW WILL DIE.
FOR EVERY DAY'S A WAR DOWN THERE, WHEN GAUGES ALL READ RED.
TWELVE HUNDRED POUNDS OF HEATED STEAM, CAN KILL YOU MIGHTY DEAD.
SO IF YOU EVER WRITE THEIR SONS, OR TRY TO TELL THEIR TALE,
THE VERY WORDS SHOULD MAKE YOU HEAR A FIRED FURNACE WAIL.
THESE "MEN OF STEEL" THE PUBLIC NEVER GETS TO KNOW.
SO LITTLE'S HEARD ABOUT THE PLACE, THAT SAILORS CALL "THE HOLE" .
BUT I CAN SING ABOUT THIS PLACE, AND TRY TO MAKE YOU SEE,
THE HARDENED LIFE OF MEN DOWN THERE, 'CAUSE ONE OF THEM IS ME.
I'VE SEEN THESE SWEAT SOAKED HERO'S FIGHT, IN SUPERHEATED AIR.
TO KEEP THEIR SHIP ALIVE AND RIGHT, THOUGH NO ONE KNOWS THEY'RE THERE.
AND THUS THEY'LL FIGHT FOR AGES ON, 'TIL STEAMSHIPS SAIL NO MORE,
AMID THE BOILER'S MIGHTY HEAT AND TURBINE'S HELLISH ROAR.
SO WHEN YOU SEE A SHIP PULL OUT TO MEET A WARSHIP FOE.
REMEMBER FAINTLY, IF YOU CAN, "THE MEN WHO SAIL BELOW".

Its a bargain at less than you would pay for a unmodified Saiga 12.
I have a OTV and I'm considering getting one to rob the plates.
Nice test

Elaine Dickinson: There's no reason to become alarmed, and we hope you'll enjoy the rest of your flight. By the way, is there anyone on board who knows how to fly a plane?

Darn no store front. I was actually thinking of driving over there some weekend. Oh well.
-
I agree, even dealers often time have chewed up boxes. Get some damn cheap ass bubble wrap or something. My Draco box looked like a rodent was trapped in there and ate its way out. Luckily my Saiga12 was hand picked.
They have to ship the rats out in something right?
-
My box had the same hole is the same spot ( Customs inspection maybe?), same grit in the barrel and a few starches. Will fix the scratches this weekend when mine goes from $520 to $750. The important part was it cycled great with low brass without doing anything to it. Make sure you run the rounds through it

Considering we just finished paying off the french for WWII reparations in 2000 I think for saving their butts. I am not surprised.

OK my Voodoo Tactical came today and I am very happy with the selection. Thanks for the back pack idea YARP. This gives me mobility for three long guns, four pistols and tons of mags, plus I can add a couple of more MOLLE pouches for a trauma kit and food pouch.
Thanks to everyone on the thread as all of the ideas and situations that were put forth helped me in making my decision. Where I am located, having a tactical style bag is not a big deal ( I did get black). What I need it for is going to the range and if something happens I can go mobile quickly. I'll post some pics of full load when I get a chance.

Damn can't believe you posted something like that. I am new here, but that was shameful. Would be a good candidate for the wall.
Oh yeah?
Red Jacket does Saiga conversions. Red Jacket is a Saiga-forum advertiser. The thread on Subguns.com is about Red Jacket.
Which made my post Saiga related. Having a hard time figuring that out?
Being that Red Jacket is part of this forum, and the thread was about him, I thought people here would want to see the link. That's why I posted it.
As far as me saying have some respect...I was trying to avoid a board-to-board flame war.
Stick that in your "Wall"
ROFL that is too funny, love this forum
