  1. Too many choices for too many situations.

My bedside has a Remington 870 Express next to it because I look at it as a disposable gun ($250 plus a $40 flashlight and $15 mount) if I have to use it to defend my home, plus it makes the universal, "Get the Fuck Out of My House" sound when you chamber a round.

For survival, I would rather have a .22 for it's light weight and ease of carrying a lot of rounds to get food/signal.

For a battle rifle, then the AK would work well as would the AR.

For everyday use, I still think a concealed Glock is the best medicine.

WHO SAID YOU HAVE TO PICK JUST ONE?!?!

+1 I could not have said it better myself!

  2. Yeah pawnshop owners are really honest and stand up guys! Yeah right! Hes just talking shit trying to move the mags he bought a bunch of the day after jared loughner shot those people.

Since you are now doing business with Glock, maybe you can verify this?

    Thanks,

    Yakdung

Sure Ill just tell them i heard through an American gun forum that some guy at a pawnshop said he heard that the Austrians wont be able to import any more hi cap mags and see what they say.

A simple question will work. Again this isn't from just one source. If you don't feel comfortable asking that's ok.

    Be safe,

    Yakdung

I thought you were just being a smartass lol. I can ask but Im sure if they know anything they will be tight lipped about it. Im sure if it did happen they would just have the American branch make them.

Just trying to separate what I'm hearing from several Houston gun stores. Funny what happens what trying to share a little information can lead to. I do think there is something to this, and I'm going to continue asking around. A non disclosure will probably prevent any flow of information on second thought.

    Thanks,

    Yakdung

I started trying to seperate fact from rumor by looking at the source: the fed's own sites. I checked ATF's site, and the Government Printing Office (GPO) site, and looked for anything out of ATF (found nothing), any new regulations published in the Federal Register (the official outlet for new regs), anything recent in the CFR (Code of Federal Regulations) and nothing official has gone out. If ATF and Glock have come to some sort of "understanding", that's another thing, but words like "ban" and others, would have to be officially announced in these places. See the GPO at http://www.gpo.gov/fdsys/ and ATF (FYI - that is what their banner says, not BATFE) at http://www.atf.gov/.

  3. I ordered 2-8rd. SMG mags Tuesday at midnight it was shipped out that same day & will arrive tomorrow(Thursday) & I live in Vegas. 3 day shipping..............awesome!!!!!!!!

Same experience here, always the fastest shipping!

...and more than just the fastest shipping. I've sent emails to Greg asking for his suggestions on packages of parts that work together to meet my objectives, and he always fires back emails with solid advice and hyperlinks to the parts he suggests. WOW. I just say ok and order everything he suggests. Maybe soon I'll just give him my credit card number and tell him to send me stuff. He'll be sending me things even before I realize I need 'em!

Keep up the great work Greg! I'll keep coming back for more

  4. Are we sure the ban isn't going through? On May 1st only the public comment period closed. May 1 was not the decision day. After a comment period closes, agencies are then supposed to consider the comments, and sometime after that make their decision and publish that decision. I didn't see a timetable from ATF for any process that follows the close of the comment period. Silence means nothing. It may be some time before they release their decision...or it could be tomorrow!

The ban did NOT go through so the prices will start to drop soon.

  5. Thank you for your insight, captain. I take this seriously because some friends of mine and I move our sport fishing boat from the US mid-atlantic to Key West, then make the day-long beeline off of Cuba to Cancun. We need to hear from those with experience. We always go in minimum four or five boat flotilla, but usually unarmed due to considerations surrounding Mexican customs. We thought about it and decided that no matter how heavily we could be armed, we would not win an all out firefight with the bad guys. If they wanted/needed our boat (drug smuggling, etc.), they're gonna get us. We would hope they didn't NEED us, and, if we chose to and could fire while they were still at a distance, we might discourage them so they would go bother someone else. Why risk getting hurt when there are other fish in the sea?

I hope to learn more...from anyone anywhere with sound advice to give.

    Thanks!

  6. Would you provide a link to the vid on Youtube? I've searched there for awhile and can't seem to find it.

    THANKS!

The guy on youtube has a fully working BHO with release lever. And it's not the Tom Cole one.

But he's not responding to any messages so I doubt he'll be making any more for anyone.

  7. Last week I sent Pauly three bolts and carriers, FCGs and such from my Saiga 12s for his Glass Bolt service. Everything I've seen tells me I made the right choice. I went with Pauly because of all of the solid comments and photos I've seen from everyone on the forum. I am excited to get them back, install them in my Saigas, and run to the range. Mirror polish on wear surfaces to slick them up, matte finish elsewhere, what's not to love. Even though I missed his special introductory price, that I sent the important parts from three guns...that says it all. Photos and range report to come.

  8. DAMN IT YOU BEAT ME TO IT................... TERD. SERIOUSLY I WAS EXITED ABOUT GOING TO WORK JUST TO GET ON AND POST THIS .....F%&%*K . This will have ramifications for a while to come :smoke: lol.. I guess it hit me to late... I'll beat ya next year though.:donatello::super:

I have just received word from a VERY close friend of mine, who works for the government, that the ATF has decided to classify the Saiga 12 as a DD ( Destructive device )

The survey they were doing recently has laid the groundwork for this decision. Due to the configuration so readily adaptable to a "nonsporting configuration" and with the broad availability of drum magazines, they have finally done what we all hoped would never happen.

The ruling will take effect in 30 days from the official announcement... Pre-ownership will allow a grandfathering clause, with registration of the prior owned shotguns.

Obviously this also will require that there will be NO MORE S12's imported into the usa... so consider the S12 a thing of the past... If you got one now... you are lucky... if not... you had best get one soon... there will NEVER be any more!!! :cryss:

We KNEW this was coming... just a matter of time!!!

God I hate to be the bearer of BAD NEWS... :cryss:

    :smoke:

I doubt it... You want to get some chuckles... go back to previous April 1st posts of mine... I think you will find some QUITE clever. I have had a pretty good run for the past few years now...

Just remember youth and speed will NEVER overcome AGE and treachery...

    :smoke:

If these exact words show up in a BATF press release announcing a DD determination  And we'll know they read this forum!

  9. post-32450-0-39287400-1301543535_thumb.jpg post-32450-0-01497600-1301543530_thumb.jpg post-32450-0-01250600-1301543533_thumb.jpg THIS LRBHO IS JUST WHAT WORKED IN MY SAIGA , DUE TO THE VARIANCES IN THE SAIGA PLATFORM, THESE SHOULD ONLY BE REFERANCED AS A IDEA !!! IN NO WAY SHOULD THESE BE REFERED TO AS A STANDARD ONE SIZE FITS ALL DIMENTIONAL DRAWING !!!! ALSO DUE TO THE DISTANCE BETWEEN CAMERA AND PART AND PART TO PAPER , CERTAIN PORTIONS OF THE IMAGES APPEAR AT A SKEW.

+1 to you and Bridis. I'm very anal, having machined and assembled many SB Chevy's up through cylinder kits and bearings for 8V92 Detroit Diesels...measurements in 0.001" and even 0.0001". Cams with finished in microns...way to much to ask for with the Saiga, granted. Maybe I've gone numb from the neck up, but, for lack of a better way of looking at it, I'd get a great benefit from images that look like X-rays of the Saiga with the LRBHO installed, shown in various configurations (bolt locked open, bolt closed, empty mag in, full mag in, etc). It's the orientation or interrelationship of the parts that I am challenged to visualize. Having a strong idea of the end result would really do a lot to get me there.

  10. In my opinion, this LRBHO isn't worth the time or the money. Or the headaches I'm sure folks are having right now.

$75.00 for a piece of steel that has to be chopped up, bent and extensively modified before it will work correctly? No thanks.

Not that it wouldn't be nice, I just don't see any major benefit.

    Good luck :smoke:

I have two of CGW's LRBHO kits on my bench but will leave them sealed in their plastic bags until I see detailed dimensional drawings, photos and directions on how to intstall them. I refuse to use a cutting tool on any part of my Saiga 12's until it is clear what I need to do.
