  1. Thanks for the advice! After a bit of filing of the front right part of the trigger and bottom of the safety, I was able to assemble a working fcg in the receiver. I think I'll wait a few days before dealing with the BHO.
  2. How much filing and fitting is expected after purchasing the Tromix fcg from CSS? The modified tapco trigger has one hook removed, but it still will not move when the axis pin is installed. With rifles, I understand that one simply enlarges the slot on the bottom of the receiver at the front of the trigger. I've not seen this mentioned in any of the conversion videos or in any of the DIY guides. Second problem: when installing the trigger, the axis pin does not go through as far as when there is no trigger installed. The difference is about 2 mm, just enough so that the retaining plat
  3. Thanks for all the good information! I'm still debating on which stock to purchase for a converted saiga-12. The use of the 'unsporting' descriptor came because I was spend most of my time on calguns.net and there was some discussion about the ATF letter and several frequent posters used that terminology. At least I know I could keep the factory stock for now while and still have a functional shotgun. Thanks for pointing out that there is a difference in stocks and that some will require more work to add. This was something I hadn't considered.
  4. I'd like to add a pistol grip to a Saiga-12. Will I need anything more than this kit from Carolina Shooters Supply that contains the fcg, trigger guard and pistol grip? http://store.carolinashooterssupply.com/servlet/-strse-658/TROMIX-SAIGA-12-CONVERSION/Detail Would I need a new stock to work with this conversion kit?
  5. Thanks for the feedback on the CSS trigger guard. Their videos make it look so easy. Good product, amazingly good video instructions - I'll be ordering a conversion kit from CSS.
  6. I'd like to convert my saiga 12 and add a pistol grip. How sturdy is the carolina shooters pistol grip kit (http://store.carolin...SION-KIT/Detail)? Would the AK-builder pistol grip kit be better?
  7. Does the stock gas piston of a saiga 12 have a directionality? (I've read that some US gas pistons have a directionality.)
