  1. Model 60 BHO.  Pull the bolt to the rear and push the charging handle in.

    attachicon.gifmod60bho.jpg

The only thing I don't like about the 60, is when it jams, it really jams. I was using some old Winchester bulk pack .22, and the rounds kept getting stuck in the lifter. I took everything apart and cleaned, polished a little, and lubed. Also replaced the ejector, which is just a tiny piece of wire, more or less. It runs great again, for now.

Of every caliber I have, .22 is by far the dirtiest. If you aren't cleaning any gun, it is likely to have issues. I have had less problems with the 60 than I have with the wifes 10/22. This due to the fact I thoroughly clean it after each range trip I've had with it (usually between 200-300 rounds) and she is not as adamant about the care on her 10/22. The BHO as said above by Darth is built into the gun. If you haven't made sure buildup in the BHO divot is properly cleaned out, this may be why you thought it didn't have one.

I'll be damned, I detail cleaned it the other day, and low and behold, it does have a BHO, just pull back and push in. I was tough, but probably because its never been used before. My 60 is a Glenfield Chipmunk, that was one of my buddies dad's first guns. It was beat to hell, and my buddy gave it to me to fix up.

I was told it didn't have a BHO, so I never looked into it.

No doubt, .22 is always dirty. I clean my guns religiously. All I meant is that when they are dirty, I'll take the 10/22 any day. Not too long ago, me and 3 of my friends went out in the woods with a brick each, and didn't come home with any ammo. The guns weren't cleaned before, but they weren't all that dirty either. The 60 failed sometime later in the shooting. The 10/22's and 597 were still running.

My 10/22 eats everything, and if it jams, drop the mag, clear, and reinsert mag. With the 60, it's more like put gun on safe, hold the bolt back manually since there is no BHO, open mag tube, dump out rounds, pull out pocket knife, prod around the action, clear stuck round, reload, and fire. It doesn't happen all that often, but when it does, it's a bitch.

That being said, I'd buy one of those at that price for sure. They are damn good little guns, just gotta make sure they're clean.

Tapco T6 for 10/22 with factory barrel channel in black.

Tapco short vertical foregrip in black

Old school Butler Creek takedown stock, fitted to a Butler Creek folder. Its in semi rough shape, could use some work, maybe some paint or epoxy. See pics. The lockup works pretty decent. I was going to use for a build but decided to go in a different direction. Has some self stick tape on the grip, and a paracord wrap cheek rest. The stock body is drilled out to run a bolt through the rear trigger pack cross pin, to make the receiver fit snug. Would make a great project gun. Sold as is. Asking $55 shipped.

ETA: the sling studs are no longer on the stock, they went to another build.

  5. I have one of the rifles, with a serial number that falls into the affected recall rifles. It has an X-Mark Pro trigger, that I myself adjusted for a lighter trigger pull. I have never had an issue with it. After I had adjusted it, I loaded it with a snap cap, slammed the butt on the ground, hit the butt and stock with a rubber mallet. tried to pull the trigger with the safety on, anything you can think off. Never had a problem. It doesn't have an extremely high round count but it's not all that low either. A lot of people don't like the X-Mark Pro anyways, and end up replacing it with a Jewel or Timney or something. I like mine just fine.

Also, none of these accidents would have happened in the first place if the people with the rifles were practicing proper firearm safety. Keep the thing unloaded and pointed in a safe direction for goodness sake. I also believe some of the accidents probably involved the user accidentally pulling the trigger, then blaming it on the rifle. Doesn't make it alright to have a rifle that goes off though. When I by a gun, I want to be able to trust that it's not going to go off whenever it decides to. There's a couple videos out there and stories where some 700s were just firing when the action went into battery, or went off when someone set the gun down that do seem credible.

Bottomline, It's great that Remington is trying to fix the problem. It's sad that there are accidents where people are injured or killed on accident by the rifle. But I'd put most of the blame on user error.

Up for sale is a lightly used Butler Creek folding stock. It is the blued model, and includes a paracord wrap on the stock for a better cheek weld. Also has compartment with sliding door in bottom of the pistol grip. No big dings or gouges, it's got safe wear, and has only been taken out 4 or 5 times. In excellent shape, see pics below. I'm only selling to go in a different direction with my rifle.

Asking $70 shipped. Looking to sell quick.

Up for sale is a lightly used Primary Arms M3 clone, on a PA 30mm cantilever mount. It is the model that takes the flat CR2032 batteries. The sight was mounted on a 10/22 and taken out a couple times, everything works perfect. In excellent condition, see pics. It used to sit in a UTG quick detach mount, while the  PA cantilever sat in the parts bin. Because of this, it has a couple more scratches, but still looks great. I am also going to throw in the UTG quick detach mounts, as I have no other 30mm optic. The battery is also fresh. The only reason I'm selling is to fund a PA Micro Dot. Asking $60 Shipped.

  8. I'm looking for an old used wood stock for a Remington 870 12 gauge. I do not need the forearm, just the stock only. Condition doesn't matter, it just can't be laminated wood. To give you an idea, I'm chopping one up to make a birdshead style grip, to match my Speedfeed birdshead. Also it has to be sorta cheap. Please email me at jmzzl762@gmail.com. Thanks!

Up for sale today is a like new Blackhawk CQC for a Glock 19, has seen very little use, includes belt and waistband mounts. Right handed. Asking $40 shipped. SOLD

Also a Glock factory light. It is a light only, not a light/laser combo. It is not LED. I THINK the model number is the GTL-10, but I am not sure, I am the second owner. Also includes an extra bulb and two batteries. Used but works great, asking $40 shipped. SOLD

Finally, a Boondock Saints "Veritas Aequitas" rear slide cover plate. Installed and removed, never fired gun with it installed. $15 shipped. SOLD

  11. I have a Pelican Travel Vault, an older one, which I think is about the same as the 1750. I bought it used, and someone had cut the foam out for an SKS. I'm going to use it exclusively for my Remington 700, and would like to get replacement foam for it, without paying an arm and a leg. Is there any way to use something else other than the factory foam to replace it? I'm sure you can buy some dense foam sheets from somewhere. I also have long since thrown away the other foam, and I'm not sure how thick of a piece I need. Help would be appreciated, thanks.
