  1. seat it properly? how could i not seat it properly? it goes in the hole, it wiggles while its in there. its not a tight fit like the hg that came with the rifle... sooo... is there anyone with a SOLUTION out there? a statement questioning the validity of my problem isnt helping...
  2. no, sorry guys, it was the back that popped up. the fronts fine. there is a huge hole in between the part of the hg that rests on the lip of the receiver, and the underside of the barrel. wow, i just remembered, i forgot to include the pics of the back of the hg. lol. anyway, according to the pics, do i need to modify something?
  3. so, i got the screw-on lower handguard retainer, took off the gas tube, slapped the lhg retainer on the hg, made sure it didnt move (there is a slight wiggle at the bottom curve, in and out, NOT side to side), then held the hg in place(with retainer attached), and screwed it on per instructions included. after i was satisfied with the fit, i tapped the top screw hole,(tho it made no difference later). then i assembled all with red lock-tite, and let it sit for awhile. then i tried reinstalling the gas tube, being careful not to touch the hg yet. after installing the gas tube, i held the rifle,
  4. lol, i see your point. but the additional hardware is still useless. so there.
  5. k. got it in, and works well so far. cant take it to the range yet, but i dont anticipate any problems. i also use a zip tie to hold the hammer spring legs behind the hammer. much easier to install that way. yeah, i reseated the pins, then put the plate in, then the safety lever. easy, actually. had to use a flat-head to hold the hammer and hammer spring coil out of the way, that the tension from the bho was causing. you know, even after so much grief, i am alot happier that i did the conversion myself and not sent it somewhere else to get it done professionally. knowing first-hand about t
  6. >>since trying to install both pins with plate already in place didnt work, couldnt get the pins into the receiver fully Nope, as you found out that won't work. Part of the challenge is making sure the pins actually fit in the slots, the rest of it is just doing it a couple times to see how it works. The axis pins must be fully seated in the receiver before you install the plate. The plate fits around the collar on the axis pins to lock them in. Make sure the pins slide easily into the slots in the plate (you can test fit with the pins and plate out of the receiver). If not
  7. i know i can rely on yall for this- ive been searching for an hour, cannot find how to install, step-by-step, the axis pin retaining plate. bought mine from css, for my 7.62, its mostly flat with a slight bend in the middle, im guessing to create pressure on the pins. i see how it goes in, what it attaches to, but not how to make it all fit and functional. i cannot get it to work with both pins. right now ive got the hammer pin installed fully, am trying to slide the retaining plate into it, since trying to install both pins with plate already in place didnt work, couldnt get the pins into the
  8. when i purchased the stock, it came with a sling swivel, but no means to ATTACH it into the stock. does that make sense to you? because it doesnt to me. and by the way, there are alot of things you get with parts bought that CANNOT be used as intended. almost every single purchase ive made at various websites verifies this. what exactly is the purpose of that???
  9. i didnt buy the lower handguard retainer from css, i bought it from k-var, where i got my lower handguard. as for contacting greg from css about the search engine problem, its too late now. i purchased the lower handguard retainer i wanted from another site, for TWICE THE PRICE, before i found a link on here to the one on css. therein lies my problem. i sent them an email, have yet to reply from them. so im probably scewed there... as for the swing swivel, mine is the one that came with the stock. just a screw-on, and no way to attach it. am i wrong in thinking that when someone buys s
  10. ok, i just wanted to know how im supposed to attach my sling mount to my dph skeleton stock. i have the sling mount, but no means to attach it. something im missing? am i retarded? do i have to buy something else, and if so, WHY? 2nd part, why is it that when i "search" in css, the results for the screw-on lower handguard retainer(the one where you dont have to take off the damn gas tube, front sight post, etc) DOESNT show up when i search for it? anybody? anybody? bueller? i already bought a lower handguard retainer, but its the kind i do NOT want to have to install. looking to sell it. n
  11. well, i thought i had it fixed. i bent the hammer spring leg on the one side, and the trigger worked like a charm. one problem, tho- the damn hammer pin replacement broke. yeah, the "binding posts" that the guy used in that one tutorial(to be used in place of the hammer and fcg pins), the one i copied and downloaded, is a fucking bad idea. got my trigger problem fixed. i didnt reinstall the retainer spring (after the binding post for the hammer BROKE during fire), and now everything should work fine. wasnt able to get back to the range yesterday to find out if my problem was solved. i went wit
  12. k, ill try the pin idea. should be narrower, but i thought the retaining spring was there to keep the fcg from wiggling in the hole...
  13. I know its a lil bit of a pain but I'd just take the FCG all apart and try it again. Look at all the details of all the parts, meaning: Make sure you ground off enough of the Hammer retaining pin area to allow smooth functioning with the BHO installed: Heres some pics courtesy of OG Moe Zambeak: and here is the link to his Conversion page: http://forum.saiga-1...sion-with-pics/ my hammer came pre-ground. that pic of the hammer with the side ground down, looks just like it. the spring coil that goes on that side, tho, overlaps the hammer part that is ground. not su
  14. Hi, Im alil confused, on the top picture the retaining spring is on the right hand side if the barrel is faceing away from you and in the bottom picture the retaining spring is on the left hand side given the barrel is facing away from you. I would have to say that the retaining spring may be your problem. Retaining springs/plates should be on the left hand side if the gun is faceing away from you. Here a great video to help: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HZ7EWIDhMGo&feature=player_embedded Can you cycle the action by hand smoothly? I know that when I was doing m
  15. The axis pins do not hold themselves in. There should be a retainer wire or plate next to the left side of the receiver that keeps the pins from backing out. The BHO should not interfere with the trigger. if you mean the spring that wraps around the trigger pin, on the left side of the fcg, that hold the fcg to the middle, then yes. its installed. because it came stock with the rifle. the pins i used to secure the fcg and hammer assembly to the receiver are binding posts, maybe? has a hollow tube with a screw that tightens it to itself...
