  1. I got into cutting the shroud off to see if my barrel was threaded or not. I only cut maybe a quarter inch from the tip so I did not mess up the crown or anything. However being the over zealous dumbass that i am I did cut slightly into the barrel in a couple of areas. Is this going to seriously effect the barrel, if so can I get the messed up part cut off and re-crowned if need be.

  2. thanks I need to go back and take it off and drill the rivet out where the back of the trigger guard was to secure the t6 stock, other than that everything is done. Cant wait to get my bullet guide and mags so I can go to the range next weekend.

  3. the stock works fine, just drill out the rearmost rivet since the trigger guard is going to be moved you will know which one. No I just reused the old trigger hole and got a hex bolt and fenderwasher with a stop nut to hold the pistol grip in place. The front edge of the pg needs to be ground down a little to make it sit flush with the trigger guard.

  4. yes it can, I just converted mine and used the pistol grip that came with it. When using the pistol grip grind a little off where the triggerguard hides behind the pistol grip. This will provide a much cleaner look for you. To use it in the old trigger hole just get a 1/4 inch by 2 inch hex bolt with a one inch fender washer and stop nut with little thread lock and it will be rock solid.

  5. I do not have a camera at the moment to get a clear picture, but with looking at it under my headlamp and a magnifying glass I can see a small ridges around the edge of the barrel. If I can I will use my buddies nikon and post pics tommorow.

  6. well I checked and the barrel has no chamber step so hopefuly this will give me a better chance of it being threaded, if not off to the gunsmith. I had also checked it and it seems to be mil spec reciever because of the markings and the dimples on the reciever so maybe I will get lucky.

  7. This whole procedure is gonna be kinda like sex, fun and exciting but nerve racking as hell the first time, but the next time you step up to the plate you know you can knock it out of the park if you want to.

Truthfully I probably could have gotten the sgl-21 and spent around the same money, but this is something where I can get to know my rifle and will be a helluva lot more rewarding when I am finished.

Trigger group on the way from css, cant wait

  8. huge help with the video, I am going to go ahead and maybe invest in a dremmel and punch set to make this a little bit easier on me. I know you can use a file and a drill to get the rivets and trigger guard out but if I am going to do it then I might as well do it right. I remember when I was first thinking of buying the rifle I was sweating over putting a bullet guide in but now I think this will be a small step compared to everything else I am going to do.

  9. weld on is probably going to be the way for you. TWS has a kit that does the same thing but it replaces the stock dust cover and rear sight so this may or may not be the route for you. I just want this because it will allow me to have the rear peep sight on the same sight plain as the optic.

  10. So unless you are converting your saiga to standard ak formation there really are not any options as far as replacement fcg's. But I have also heard you can do some light filing on the stock fcg and get it to work much butter just by doing this. which route should i go.

  11. i had read several on the dog leg rails and they seem to be a good choice considering the other option would render the sights useless so this seemed a good route for back up iron sights and a longer sight plane so seems like a win win situation. So if you are not going the conversion route there really is no replacement for the stock trigger group.

  12. I am not quite sure about the bullet gide yet but once I get comfortable with the gun I probably will. Once you do the bullet guide do you still have to modify the ak mags or will they work anyway.

I probably will change out the intrafuse once I get farther along but for now it will do ok just for the price of it. after that texas weapons systems dog rail so I can get rid of the stock rear sight and go to the backup peep sight with some sort of optic maybe. This is all 4-6 months down the line so we will see what happens.

  13. thanks for the info. so the tapco trigger group just drops in place of the original. I will definitely keep surefires around as my needs to work everytime mag but will get some pro mags for range use. I am pretty sure I want the t6 instead of just getting a conversion kit. If I was going to do that I would have bought the arsenal ak and saved the time, but where is the fun in that. I have heard the t6 stock works great but the pg needs to be modified if the trigger guard has not been moved up.

  14. Hi just bought my first rifle. I browsed around for a while before making my choice. I had looked at ar-15, arsenal ak-47, mini 30 and 14. The 132 caught my attention simply because of the price and the proven kalashnikov sytem. I do plan on doing mods on it, in fact it was the one thing I liked about it was that modifications were a must and would let me get to know the rifle better.

A few questions for the people that have them.

    1. which trigger group would work the best the tromix or the tapco group. the tapco apparently needs modification and the tromix says for only if your moving the group forward.

2.I know the surefire mags work but are the promags really as bad as the reviews.

    3. Does the t6 intrafuse stock and pistol grip pretty solid and does it really need modification or with it bolt up with just minor drilling.

4.The dog leg rail from texas weapon systems seems like a good buy, is it a reliable system(if anyone has one)

5.as far as handguards go how well does the intrafuse hanguard work.

look forward to getting to learn my rifle and build it up how I want it.

    thanks for any suggestions
