  1. Thanks for reply's guys....it definitely makes sense with the x39 if it cheap and easy to add a bullet guide. As to the 223, it seems like its a little more complicated and spendy from what i've read. I cant seem to make up my mind what caliber.... Josh
  2. Thanks for the replies gents...anyone else? Is there a board sponser that should be looked at as well? Thanks, Josh
  3. Hello, I am considering getting a saiga, either in 7.62x39 or 223. I have not decided yet, maybe you all can help. for a newbie like myself, what are the advantages of converting this rifle, is it not reliable as it comes from the factory? I have no other semi auto rifles besides a Ruger Ranch rifle, so I dont really care what magazines I use as long as they are completely reliable and somewhat durable. Please explain why you guys are converting these rifles before you even take them to the range? Also, is there a difference in reliability or compatibility with either the x39 or 223? i
  4. Hello, I am looking to purchase two Saiga 223's or maybe even 7.62x39's.... haven't quite decided yet. I have never owned an AK or variant and am pretty new to semi-auto rifles. I have been hunting and shooting for 30 years, typically with bolt rifles and revolvers. My question is, where can I find the best deal on a pair of 223's or x39's? Any other tips are appreciated such as what mags are most reliable / cost effective or just general tips for a greenhorn etc... Regards, Josh
