  1. As I said when I started this thread, my 3 weiger hicaps and my oem saiga mag all work perfectly with no bullet guide in my converted saiga 223. So for me if it aint broke don,t fix it.!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks guys for all the responces and info. Ron
  2. Judging from the thickness of the steel on the front of the weiger mag lips I think they will last longer than a while serving as a bullet guide, (probably 3 life times) considering the plastic surefires and the plastic saiga mags give no trouble and function on an on an on. As I said I am new but looking objectively. it seems anything more would be a parinoid overkill. Not to offend anyone but there are a lot of plastic mags out there in a lot of guns and it seems to me the Russian manfacturer know what they are doing ,,,,,,,,just my 2 cents
  3. Maybe you have not noticed but I am already useing weiger mags, I really dont know of any modifications to the gun since it also functions 100% with the original saiga plastic mag, Maybe the weigers have been mosified because they also function 100%. ??????????
  4. here is another picture of my 3 mags, I was told there are german weiger, that were modified by surefire a few years ago during there start up. I dont know but they function flewlessly without a bullet guide and have for hundreds of rounds. I would also very much like to know the story about the mags, they came with the gun bought used at a gun show.
  5. I bought my saiga 223 used and it came with 3 hicaps and one 10 round plastic mag. ! I am not real sure who made the hicap mags but they run flawlessly in my gun. (see picture) If mags are avialiable for the 223 saiga why modify the gun with bullet guide and surplus military mags why not just buy mags that are designed for the gun. I am new to this forum and don, tknow a lot about saiga 223s and was wondering why all the mods when itis not neccessary.
  6. This is my first saiga and saw all the talk about mag feed problems and was concerned since my 223 has never had a hiccup. The mags seem to be all original and must have been modified by someone that really knew what they were doing. like you said probably Surefire. Thanks again Ron
  7. Answered in your previous thread. Sorry for the double post . I am new and could not get the pictures to post.. Thanks for the help.
  8. Here is another picture of the mags in question, the front of the mags seem to be identical to the factory plastic mag in that they seem to guide the round into the chamber by the raised section in the front of the mag.
  9. These mags came with my used saiga 223 and functiion perfectly without a bullet guide. I will try and download a picture.
  10. I have 223 Saiga with 3 steel hicap mags and the original plastic mags also gun has no feed ramp. Bought the gun and mags used a few years ago and put over 500 rounds downrange without a hiccup. Have been reading that a bullet guide is needed with medal hicaps, but my gun seems to function perfectly can someone help me idenify these mags..
