  1. Backwoods Vanilla. I rarely smoke anymore, but I wouldn't turn one of these stogies down for sure. I know they're low end and redneck as hell, but I can't give any direction on the fancy ones, never had one.

Yeah if im not puffin on a Tatiana to save a little money ill definitely go for a Backwoods berry or mild, I think there a tasty low end cigar.

  2. If you like flavored cigars one of my favorites is the TATIANA, and if you dont feel like killing an hour they come in 3 different sizes.

These are 3 of the best ones, i preffer the GROOVY BLUE

Groovy Blue - Berries soaked in Vanilla, with Acacia Honey and Cognac

Waking Dream - Vanilla Cream, Piedmont Hazelnuts and Single Maly Whiskey

Night Cap - Vanilla over Marcona Almonds, Cafe Arabica and Criollo Cocoa

  3. I know they are a small business and I have read of similar problems before, i have had some with other vendors too. Try sending them a message on this forum thay worked for me with another vendor. You do need to realize with the current situation with 2ND amendment laws ALL gun parts manufacturers are OVER THE TOP SWAMPED in business. Many of them are too busy trying to get orders out the door to even look at Emails, some of them have had to shut dwon for a few weeks just to catch up!

Ive also heard of others having this same issue with alumalite and our situations were well before the second amendment scare, i honestly think they just dont pay much attention to costumer service.

  4. I had a similar issue, i tried contacting them by email and phone several times to discuss a custom brake i wanted made for my .308, i called and emailed multiple times and never got any kind of response at all, i seriously questioned if they had went out of business or if there work was in such high demand and they were so busy they simply didnt have time for good customer service anymore lol i eventually got tired of it and decided to go with someone else for my brake work and happy i did, alumalite definately does some nice work but i think there over priced and that combined with there customer service was good enough reason for me to take my business somewhere else.

depending on how bad you have your heart set on that particular shroud, i would stop payment and explore other options, i think its bullshit they cant even answer a email from a costumer especially one who has made a purchase, considering they encourage all questions by email on there own dam site...016.gif LOL

  5. As a fellow Californian, I gotta say that there is no way in Hell the gun laws here will get less restrictive. Too many idiots that just want to feel good about themselves, and work very hard to keep away from anything that doesn't conform to their worldview of unicorns and rainbows. I support the CRPA, but otherwise keep my head down.

Especially not now, and the situation is looking is worse every day, looks like everybody will have it just as bad as cali soon enough!

  6. Well, after a rough start, I got my .660 / .670 barrel threaded to 5/8 - 24. The M60 FH fits perfect and looks great.

A big thanks to everyone on this thread, especially those who answered my questions.

For anyone doing this for the first time, I can't emphasize enough how important it is to back out at least 2 or 3 times the distance every time you thread forward in order to break off the chips and clean out the threads. Also use lots of cutting fluid, I used Ballistol, and it worked great. Personally I didn't like threading the barrel in a horizontal position, and put the rifle butt on the floor and used some scrap lumber and screws to secure it to the side of my bench. This way I was able to keep it from moving (my little vice wasn't up to the task and my big vise is broken at the moment), was able to push down while I was getting it started, and the wood didn't scratch the rifle at all.

My threading tool came with a little built-in screw set into the gap and I turned it all the way in to adjust it to the biggest diameter it would go. I didn't have to tighten it for a second pass, the M60 FH went on fine.

She's almost done, just waiting on the scope, should be here tomorrow. I'll post pics soon.

So in conclusion would you say threading a .670 barrel to 5/8x24 without trimming down barrel is easily done or risky business?

Before i try. I was wondering if it was possible to rethread threads? If not i guess im going to have to move back my front sight block forward again and go with the SGM clamp on muzzle brake route. Im sure that would fix the problem. Too bad they didnt make a 74 style clamp on brake

If your not able to correct it i just so happen to have a new SGM TACTICAL Bolt on brake for sale, $100 shipped or we might even be able to work out a deal on those threading tools if your interested032.gif

  7. I would mention the Mid west industries MI AK Side Rail Scope Mount. Very low to the dust cover (may be the lowest, I think you have to remove it to field strip the rifle)which takes a second, and built like a tank. Google it. This thread has a nice pic of one on a S12 http://forum.saiga-1...thier-saiga-12/

The Midwest Industries side mount is flawless, i have it on my .308 [check out my pics] and i have took it on and off many times and done lots of shooting i have never lost zero, it is really light really low and well made [quick detach] plus it looks awesome, in my opinion the best side mount available.

  8. Glad you like!

    Hello, Dinzag

What are the particulars? When can we minions purchase, how much, etc......

Oh, and do you have the brakes available (.308) as well?

    TIA,

    Guido2 in Houston

I have some here - gotta put some finish on them.

Gonna run $115 shipped each

    They are threaded 14x1LH.

I have some of those U.S. made brakes on hand all the time.

Those run $20 each. (14x1 LH)

Also have threading kits for rent in 5/8-24 & 17x1 - $20, and can do '74 brakes in either for $39 each. ($20 to bore & thread a brake/hider if you send it to me) Has to be thick enough though. That's if you remove your FSB and/or have it bored to sit back on the barrel to expose the barrel for threading.

Rick-16 can do brakes & hiders as well. Don't know if he has 17x1 for the larger 0.671~ Saiga 308 barrels, but he does have 5/8-24 for the 0.631~".

I will update my for-sale page with all the new stuff in the next week.

    Thanks,

    Brian

    Dinzag are these still available?
