  1. thank you for your replies guys. its been a while since i had computer access so sorry for the wait of response. i have met some gun dealers etc that did not know gun laws, gun specs etc. and trust me, one thing a 21 year old like myself knows...internet forums have a lot of information. especiallly when packed with experienced gun owners. thanks for the info again.
  2. I just tried the patch method on my rifle. I marked a spot on the rod and sent it through. When I made sure it was a full rotation, I pull it out and measured it. It was about 9 inches give or take. Probably user error on my part for the give or take. So now, Im even more confused. But I still thought I would post a followup
  3. Hey everyone, I didnt try the patch method yet, but I called up my friend whos a gun dealer. I asked him about the twist rate on my Saiga .223. He called the manufacturer and said that from what they said, they are leaning towards a 1:12 twist. This came as a surprise because due to this forum and many other websites, I was leaning towards 1:9. Now I am confused. I have a stockpile of .223 greentips (62gr) and I am wondering if I will be able to shoot these rounds. Can anyone refute this claim? Will the 62 grain bullets bother my rifle? Thank you

  5. Hey everyone! I'm a new Saiga owner, but as the closest thing to an AK you can own in NJ, I just had to buy one. I just have a few questions that seem a bit basic, but are probably necessary to ask. What is the easiest, most hassle-free magazine conversion? Is there a conversion that only requires magazine manipulation (grinding, sanding)? What is the best type of ammunition for my weapon? What types should I stay away from? Is it just as reliable and worry free as an AK47? How important is cleaning and oiling? Last but not least. The question everyone wants to k
