  1. Thanks everybody. I compared the factory hammer to the new tapco one and the tapco hammer looks to be wider. How do i know when to stop grinding down the hammer?
  2. I got the conversion parts in the mail this week and put em on yesterday. When charging the weapon the bolt and carrier slide back a couple inches then it hangs up and ya have to give it a pretty good pull. I have never had this problem and didnt know if it was from the new tapco trigger and FCG. Is it doing this because they're new parts and have to be broken in? Or should i re profile the bottom of the carrier? And sorry i dont have pics for ya all. But i currently dont have a camera
  3. great idea on the hitch pins. ill get some when i go into work monday. thanks
  4. The front pin holding my hammer keeps popping slightly out of the hole. It has a groove so i could make another shepherds crook but is there an easier way to keep that locked in place?
  5. good deal. appreciate it guys. should i buy a regular md arms booster puck?
  6. When i first bought my twister puck it came out fairly easily from the gas tube. Now there is quite a but of resistance when trying to remove the puck even when it has been thoroughly cleaned. I also checked the gas tube for obstructions or build up of any kind but could not find anything. It seems like my twister puck has expanded. Wanted to know if anybody has had this happen and what your guys thoughts are.
  7. When i first bought my twister puck it easily slid in and out of the front of my gas tube. Now it doesnt come out as easily even if it has been thoroughly cleaned and seems like it has expanded. I checked for build up on the inside of the gas tube as well to see if thats where the resistant was coming from and could not find any. I was wondering if anyone else has had this happen and what your guys thoughts are. oooops wrong forum, sorry guys
  8. Didn't elaborate very much there in the last post. Usually about one out of every 8 to ten shots sometimes more I have a FTE on the low brass bulk pack ammo. Never experienced any FTF's
  9. Just out of curiosity, have you fired it yet? You didn't mention whether you had or not. Before you do anything to the gas ports, fire the weapon with various ammunition types (buck, slug, birdshot) to see if it's even necessary. If it isn't, you'll save save yourself a lot of time and aggravation, not to mention avoid possibly damaging your S-12. A thought... Yes I've tried a various mixture of 2 3/4 and 3 inch shells. All the slugs, 00 buck, and higher brass loads cycled flawlessly. The gun has been broken in and still have a pretty big inconsistency with the cheap wally world ammo.
  10. Thanks everybody. The next thing I plan on doing is opening up my gas ports. I currently have 3
  11. Hey everybody, Been kickin back, hiding out, and reading posts for a month or so before i made an account recently. I mustered up enough balls tonight to tear her down and begin working on it myself . Its nothing special at this point... but it is the beginning of a work in progress! All I did tonight was remove the bolt and carrier, polish them both, and round off the two angles in the bolt channel. Don't have any pics yet..Anyways just wanted to say thanks for all the kick ass info you guys made this VERY SIMPLE. I feel pretty confident about doing this build myself. Can't wait to order
