I always take with me to competitions full set of spare parts.

I am told that the safety lever has to rotate past the "safe" position to be removed. Mine will not rotate anywhere near that far because it hits the trigger rail. So I guess I will have to remove the trigger first. Is this correct?
I would have done so. If you later want to change the trigger, safety lever can not be right

I stopped using AFG for 12ga.
To .223 and 7.62, it works fine. But on the 12ga barrel toss offset worse.

Well, I've pretty much looked everywhere, but no Saiga 12 spare parts are available until sometime next year. However...I love a good plan. As it happens, my dentist is also an avid shooter and he knows an oral surgeon who owns this super cool 7 axis computer miniature milling machine that sits around when not making quartz or gold replacement crowns. Cost like $120 grand or so.
How it works is like science fiction. You place the part you want duplicated down like to .0001 of an inch into a secure frame and some lasers scan the part. Then you put in a billet of hard gold or very hard quartz or plastic in another jig and the machine then duplicates the part, down to the smallest detail. I don't know if the steel would be designed to mill out replacement 4140-4130 shotgun parts.
Anyhow, the mind boggles, at least my feeble mind. I will be contacting the oral surgeon in question and ask him if his neat 7 axis milling machine would be able to turn out 4140 billet gun parts and if he would be willing to rent out his machine? Bolt heads, extractors, plungers, firing pins and other Saiga- specific parts come to mind. This would also work with all the other Saigas. $expensive$ fur sure.
What do you think? Am I wasting my time or not? HB of CJ (old coot) How much would you pay?

Some people use Red Star Arms Triggers, they are adjustable. Do reseach before buying one, sometimes you have to modify the trigger or safety to make them fit in certain AKs. I have heard good thing about Texas Triggers as an option besides the Tapco Trigger.
Adjusting screws unscrew during firing spontaneously. And if you screw them on Loctite, then later, if necessary, unscrew them is impossible.

AK can be operated without any lubrication and more than 1000 shots. This is exactly and tested more than once.
If you have a weapon for SHTF situation, you have a gun "on every day." And for hunting and for sport and for self-defense.
For me, as a lot of shooting, life and simplicity of weapons is very important.

With all respect to you, In my opinion what your gun shows is acceptable wear. What the OP has is not however.
I have had a 4 port gun since '08 and have been beating the cock out of it damn near every time I bring it out. I have the elongation on the bolt carrier from the bolt, wear marks on the bolt, extractor, and FCG, but nothing along the lines of what is being shown here on the trunnion.
Thats not normal IMHO.
I probably have 1k rounds of 3" magnums through mine and my rear trunnion looks better than that(keep in mind this is just me including the goose loads, not the rem sluggers, 00 buck, trap loads, or occasional turkey load thrown through my gun).
None of my 3 S-12s exhibit this kind of wear.
I highly recommend looking into methods of cutting back on gas, and possibly a stronger recoil spring.
My gun has five gas ports. Beat the bolt on the rear of the receiver - this is normal. This is not a problem. Safety margin at the receiver is huge. From the aesthetic side of course is not very pleasant.
I have my own requirements for the gun:
1. It should shoot bullets of 28-44gm.
2. It must shoot in any frost.
3. It must shoot in any situation. Regardless of the butt pressed against the shoulder or not.
4. All this must be done without any additional adjustments in the process of shooting.
So I will not limit the amount of gases or increase the return spring.
In this mode, the gun I live 1.5-2 years. During this time the fires around 20K, and then sent to preventive maintenance.
The average user does not have to worry about this deterioration. Especially Saiga has control of gases.
