  1. Good to know headshot... thanks.

There's a dealer in my area who always has all the cool rifles always in stock (over-priced tho). But he's such a cocky asshole and thinks he knows everything that I now drive 1.5 hours out of my way to NOT do business with him. Anyway... first he proceeded to tell me that I couldn't cut down and crown my own barrel... and second was that if I did have an NFA rifle, the AFT will show up in the middle of the night, unannounced, disturbing me and my family and go thru all my shit! He then tells me that this is the only reason that he's not a class III dealer, he doesn't want the extra stress (but really he's just too big of a pussy).

So, I took my Arsenal Krink in there after I cut it down (and totally finished) and told him that this is what he could do with that rifle (pointing to the Arsenal 106U on the wall) if he had the balls. All his workers in the shop were nutz over it, but he just seemed to want to ignore me and the fact that I was standing there, sole purpose to just to rub it in.

If I owned a cool gun shop like his, the first thing I'd do would be to get into class III shit. I mean it's just all about crossing your T's and dotting your I's really. I went to college... paperwork is easy.

  2. A few months ago, Jammer brought in an Arsenal .223 Krink to test out. It was a big disappointment. He can elaborate on it if you want the details.

Yeah... I've hear some of them are questionable (just like their 106F series). I'm glad that mine doesn't have any problems... it's flawless. I guess I took a big chance on not test-firing it before I chopped the barrel!

If you are thinking about a 107UR (7.62x39 Arsenal Krink), keep in mind that the gas ports will have to be opened up to 3mm after you chop it or it won't cycle. The 106U doesn't have to be opened up at all.

  3. Aside from 6500rpm does anyone else actually own one? What caliber, pros/cons, ect? Cobra mentioned before that they go for about $800, is that the going rate or intro rate?

I have an Arsenal 106U Krink (.223 caliber). I love it! No problems at all with it, and it loves Wolf (it's an AK after all). They also make them now in 7.62x39 (107UR). They are around the $900 mark. Then you have the $200 tax stamp. Then the engraving. Then you have to cut and crown the barrel. Then the proper muzzle device. They add up quick.

Here's a pic of when a buddy and I went shooting last (our SBRs combined at the time). My .223 is the second down on the left and his 7.62 is under it.

    Fun stuff... get one!

  4. I was in Jensen Arms today blowing money that I don't have when UPS dropped off eight Saiga 12 gauges (IZ-109). They are $411.95.

Better call and get them asap before they put them on GunBroker (or yocals like me buy them up)!

    merry x-mas!

EDIT: I GUESS TONY DIDN'T GET THESE! :lolol: :lolol:

  5. Good news!

I got a reply back from RAA, and they said that this rifle is perfectly legal. :D It was never a 'machine gun' because it went straight to the civilian market. Because of this, the extra hole is legal. They said they will send me the ATF regulations that apply to this so I can be sure.

Whew! Now that that's over, I can get back to doing the conversion. B)

    Matt

That'll be a sweet one for sure!

  6. I took new pics of my rifle yesterday and they over-wrote the old pics. I just wanted to be clear that the magazine now pictured (here, and in the pics above) is not a Polish polymer mag... it's a factory Saiga 30 round polymer mag that I modified to work with the feedramp that's installed in my rifle (they are manufactured to work in un-modified Saigas).

Just thought I'd update the post so there was no confusion (since I couldn't edit it).

  7. Dimples are supposed to help cut down on mag wobble, but the non-dimpled ones have the rails to do that... so you're not missing out on anything. Basically a dimpled .223 is just really hard to find and looks cool.

I'm a BIG sucker for looks and rare stuff!
