  1.

Looks like a great mag..Is there a noticable weight difference between the steel 12rd and say a surefire 12rd mag? Just curious? I have a dozen or so mags still in the wrapper...may have sell some off and try a few. Nice write up Chile...Thanks.

There aren't any 12s available, only 8s... Plans for 10s are apparently subject to demand.

    I haven't a scale, but a steel 8 feels close to a poly 10.

I see that now on the 12rds....thank you sir!

  3. Its another one of those sites I do not participate in. I guess Im old school but I do all my networking the old fashion way...face to face.

I probably get 30 requests a week from people....after about 3 emails from the contact it stops. I just set up a rule in my outlook to dump them in a folder...that folder is set to have its contents automatically deleted weekly.

  4. If you can carry open thats the way to go until you get your paper work. You can't carry open here. If something would happen and you were CC you would become the anti gunners poster boy and they would prosecute accordingly.

The new amendment to CC law they just passed here requires that you must receive written notice that your permit is going to expire in 30 days. Also if your permit has expired for less than year they cannot charge you with unlawful carry but they can fine you up to $100.

Plus you can renew your permit online. 032.gif

  5. Any time an FFL takes in a gun in his shop, and you leave it there with him, he has to log it into his book. Same thing if you buy a brand new gun and have it shipped to him so you can pick it up. It goes IN the book and then when you come to pick it up it comes back OUT of the book. During that time the gun may as well belong to that FFL because to get it back or pick it up the first time, you must fill out a form 4473 so he may transfer it from his name to your name.

    Normal.

I understand the log issue...So my next question how does presenting my invoice stub not require me to fill out the form? They said come back tomorrow with my stub and my DL and no issues.

    From the ATF site

Neither the transfer of a repaired firearm nor the transfer of a replacement firearm would be subject to the requirements of the Brady law. Furthermore, the regulations provide that a Form 4473 is not required to cover these transactions. However, the licensee’s permanent acquisition and disposition records should reflect the return of the firearm or the transfer of a replacement firearm.

    [27 CFR 478.124-25]

Thanks for the info just trying to understand the law.

  6. I have an old Ithica double barrel 12 gauge my grandfather bought when he got back from WWII. He used it for as long as he could and then it was passed down to my father who used it as long as he could and when he passed on it came to me...After years of use the forend had developed a crack so it has been sitting in my safe for 10+ years. For my birthday my wife decided to have it repaired for me.

I took it to a local shop for repair a few weeks ago and today they called to tell me it was ready for pickup. I ended up on that side of town later in the afternoon for work so I figured I would pick it up.

I went in to pick it up and they asked for my invoice stub...I didn't have it b/c I didn't know it was ready till after I left the house this morning. They said that's ok you just need to fill out a 4473 to get it back. I said that's ok it's at the house I will be back tomorrow.

My question is does that sound right? I checked the ATF site and they said it wasn't required. But like all thing ATF I am sure it's up to interpretation. I have my stub so I will go back tomorrow and get it. Just seemed like a weird request. I am a DIY type of guy and don't use smiths that often. I just didn't want to take the chance of screwing something up on a 60+ yr old piece of wood.

Hoping some of the smiths here can chime in. Thinking maybe they are just CYAing it's one of the larger LGS.

    Thanks

  7. Let them try. Then collectively sue them for violating your 1st amendment rights in favor of someone else's.

I don't agree with the FB stance on guns but it is a business. A business has a right to evoke certain restrictions as long as it's with in the law. It's no different than a restaurant posting a no concealed carry sign on the front door. You have a right not to use it...I don't like what goes on @ FB therefore I don't go to FB never have never will, fuck em! If enough people disagree with their rules someone in the industry will create an alternative. That's the great thing about a free market system.

  8. Any body here have one, shot one, any experience with one? Stopped by a LGS yesterday and they had one for sale. I kinda like the do one thing do it well not the be ok at a couple things when come to my firearms. I read some reviews and they weren't that great but it could be worth picking up if they are rare as hens teeth. Also anybody have any idea on pricing? Looks like it would be a yote hunting machine...I hate carrying a rifle and a shotgun with me....plus tryin to switch due to range can/does spook' em.

  9. I shot many different piston guns and it took me a while to decided. Osprey add on kits to MR 556...I went with sl8/G36K conversion. The polymer frame makes it very light, around 5 lbs without a mag and you dont feel the piston cycling. Balance is great. Definitely went the pay once cry once route. Its the only piston gun I own...not counting AKs. I don't plan on buying another piston gun.

  10. Great idea but given the location the city will shut her down next time for not having a permit or license. Liberals aren't going to let someone make a profit without getting their cut.

I read an article yesterday were CO is forecasting approx 610 million in rev from pot taxes...No matter if you agree with it or not get ready its going to be legalized in a state near you very soon....Governments at all levels are too greedy and too broke not to tap into that rev stream. Its going to be just like the lottery...governments will get their cut....I can see it now...Education Cannabis. ..smh

  11. The range I belong to has a group of us who do group buys on components...we got an email from the Bullseye factory rep about an order we have been waiting on....I tried to find it but I must have deleted it....It basically said the factory is running 24/7 and they are shipping out product everyday and they have no control over their product once it goes to the distributor...They are making it so I guess the question is how long will it take for the closets to fill up?

  12. I find no humor in any of it, it's deadly and they are mindless idiots. I do not go into any of these types of places anymore, indoors or outdoors, doesn't matter, I haven't for several years now. The gun shop I go to has an indoor pistol range, makes me nervous as hell being in the store when the range is active, I usually don't stick around for very long.

Agreed I don't do public ranges.

These guys that hand a girl a firearm she has no business shooting and then filming it need to be kicked in the nuts.
