  1. I use a gunvault minivault non biometric. I got the AC cord and cable lock. It takes batteries as well for back up. I keep it in the nightstand nightstand drawer and the cable is anchored to an eyebolt that is screwed into the base plate of the wall. You will have to drill some holes in the back of your nightstand to run the cable and the AC cord. It has enough room for a full-size pistol, extra mag and a few other things.

    Good Luck with your search.

  2. Remington 700 in '06 topped with a TR22...that was my hunting setup until we started having bad hog problems this year....Been runninng the TR22 on my 6.8 AR cause those bastards dont start moving till dark 30...needed the 56mm to give me more shooting time and the semi to stack em like cord wood. I got notification today the my x sight has shipped so as soon as it gets here it will go on the 6.8 and the TR22 will go back on the 700. Hog night season starts 3-1. Good Luck!

  3. I don't store in cases for the reasons stated above and more. Sure would make it easy for a burglar to be in out quick and only choose the choice weapons. I got tired of changing dissicant packs too and installed a golden rod in my safe...it was a well spent 40 bucks. Labels are great for ammo cans and then I put a strip of painters tape on inside of the top and use a sharpie to keep track of my round count in the can. Once I run out space I just peal it off add another and start over. .FWIW

  4. Last week Midway cancelled all my 22lr backorders with the bullshit excuse that the manufacturers had discontinued those skus.  I had 8,000 rounds backordered of several different brands.  Obviously CCI mini-mags and Remington Golden Bullets are not discontinued.  They just changed the skus for those items so they wouldn't have to honor millions of rounds of backorders at the "old" prices.

Just another reason to say fuck you to Midway.

But when a deal like this comes up I'll take it.  I'm not going to screw myself because they're bastards.

Did the same thing to me on 22 mags, CCI 40gr JHP. I had 5k rounds on back order since March.

I had other opportunities to pick some up and didn't because of my order, and I have plenty put away. Fuck em they will never see another dime from me.

  5. My brother in law was deployed 4 times...his two most requested items were movies and snuff. He said he could trade for just about anything else he needed with that. I would load him up with an hard drive full of movies and rolls of snuff. I would also send the occasional box of dry pancake mix and a bottle of "syrup". Its amazaing how much dark rum looks like syrup in the right bottle.

  6. The issue you described above is why I don't have a AR chambered in x39...I have friends that do and they all have issues with the mag feeding when fully loaded. If there is a solution out there I am not aware of it...they do get a little better with use but for some reason the curved mag feeding into an ar just doesn't seem to work. I would love for someone to post up a solution and prove me wrong as that is the only caliber of AR I don't have and I would like one.

  7. Put as many of the old parts back in/on as you can with the conversion, see it it runs. If it does put your new parts back on one at a time and test after each one is added. Sometimes with these guns if you change out too many parts at one time it can cause issues. What kind of forend did you add? . I would also determine your current port size. They may need opened up more but no of knowing until you know what size they they currently.
