My 7.62 has the same brake. The holes are probably designed to direct gases just like the slant brake style in order to keep the muzzle down and centered insead of pulling to one side.

Sorry for back to back posts but here is a pic of the left side. My roll marks are light but there doesn't seem to be any builder marks unless I am missing something? (Off camera...it says Made in Russia by Ishmash) Bad pic...the gun is dusty from storage.

Is there a certain cleaning rod I should look for for my new Saiga conversion? I tried fitting the rod from my Yugo M70 but it is too thick to go through the Saiga's bayo lug. Maybe I just need to ream the lug out a little to accomadate any standard cleaning rod?

Not advertising...I just watermark all my pics because you wouldn't believe where they turn up! Didn't mean for it to look like an advertisement! When I share my hobby, I also add a business-related watermark to every image I post. It lets people know that it isn't enough to simply share my hobby, because advertising should be welcomed into every part of our lives.

Just picked this up from a private seller. It is an unfired Atlantic Firearms underfolder conversion from about 5 years ago. This is my first Saiga so I would like to learn whatever I can about them! I'm sure I'll have some questions...but for now, here are the pics!

Is it bad to have a screwed bullet guide? I put a screwdriver to it and it seems to be loctited pretty well...
