I have a non converted 7.62 and am nervous to convert it because i live in nassau county in new york. I am weary at best about the legality of the conversion especially since in about 6 months time i need to voucher my firearm at my local precinct when i go for the police academy. Does anyone know where i can find a FIXED pistol grip stock?

That is extremely tempting... it is a bit of a trip. If no one closer offers i may take you up on that.

I have no experience in gunsmithing, metal work, or anything of the sort. I would be super nervous converting my saiga myself. Before i even think about doing that i cant find anywhere whether or not the conversion would be legal in my location. IF it is there anyone here who lives in the area that may be able to do the conversion for me. I keep seeing that it is not that hard but i think i would be too nervous with the drilling and removal of all the internal pieces.
