  1. UPDATE:

RAAC (who by the way, has absolutely horrible business hours that are extremely inconvenient for graveyard shift gentlemen like myself) FINALLY got back to me on this issue

Apparently the Turks have replaced the screw/spring/detent setup for the safety lever altogether and now have a one single screw piece that acts as the detent for the safety lever. This is going to be in all current 1919s being produced.

Not that it matters, since its not like its a performance piece or something but itll help reduce chances of losing the spring or detent whenever you field strip. Just call them if you want the new detent screw and they'll mail it to you

Also, they are sending me a replacement magazine. My factory 5 round 2 3/4 inch mag's feed lip were bent INWARDS into the mag after about 20 shells. The feed lips bending downward caused shells to be nearly impossible to extract from the magazine without the aid of tools (or brute, stupid force as it was in my case)

  3. Hell, can't be hard to find a replacement. Look at different AR detent springs. Go to your local hardware store and find one then cut it to length.

This should be a pretty easy fix...

    AKATTACK

It's better to ask around first and see if anyone has any spares or knows where to get one rather than buying randomly and finding out it wont work

  4. I really don't see the big deal, to be honest.

Keep the factory spring when you're hunting, then do the 5 minute disassemble and put the light spring for when you go to the range for some practice/skeet shooting

I mean it would be nice to be able to have the perfect setup that shoots EVERY type of ammo, but as of now, if youre gun doesnt cycle light loads after breaking it in, then switching out the spring and adding a bushing is the best bet for cheap range plinking

If you do find an answer, let me know. I still have to break my 1919 in with heavy hunting loads

  5. I wont post anything here until we get a site ,sponsor/dealer setup.

Still waiting on DIE maker's for a final cost to have die's made , supposed to have bids last week.

As soon as we get some more info on the $$$$ , we'll get things rolling.

You just gonna do 10-rounders or anything larger as well?

Will the price point be about the same as the factory 10s?

I think he was testing 12 or 13 rounders

  6. Well if you want to add a stock and/or pistol grip, you'd have to make your 1919 922r compliant first (or was it if you wanted to use high cap mags? I cant remember. Either ways, we all know youre gonna get a highcap mag anyways so you might as well make your 1919 shotgun 922r compliant)

Buy a Tromix trigger for $25 ish (counts as 2 parts), or send your lower in to FireBird and have them install their AR-15 style trigger (counts as 3 parts)

    Buy a Tromix gas piston

and then buy a US made choke (gunsumer reports has a good article about all of this. Their choke replacement is pretty tacticool wink.png )

What you'll need for a buttstock modification

    1. Some kind of saw (hacksaw works fine, but table saws are cleaner cut)

    2. Dremel or sanding disc (or sandpaper if you have zen-like patience)

    3. Tromix adapter

    For AR-style stock

    4. Pig nose adapter

    5. Milspec or commercial buffer tube

    6. Buttstock of choice

If you want to make it a side folding stock, they sell side folding mechanisms for as cheap as $60 methinks

  7. Sorry to hear that brother! I called Raac to get a handguard retaining nut and they said "Probably" not till Jan. 2013?

How did they break?, Any pics?

    My uh...spring and detent broke....

    have any spares, gentlemen?

Lets just say it was an animal related incident and lets leave it at that sad.png

Oh God, dont tell me that

  8. Did all our own work .

Oh wait, I forgot you were the gentleman making 13 round mags. Ofcourse you finetuned your 1919. What sort of things could one do to help cycling reliability?

    All I know of:

1: install a gas bushing (DONE)

2: install a different spring for light brass loads (considering buying one now)

  9. how many total rounds through the gun thus far?

if less than 100-150 full snot loads then that's your issue...

most people have to fire them a bit with full power loads before cycling improves.

    mine took about 50 rounds

    I stated it in first post. Approx 75 00buckshot 1200fps shells and 100 centurion #8 1400fps shells

I havent shot any "full power" loads in my 1919 yet. What would you suggest as the cheapest FULL POWER load to fire to get the gun to cycle flawlessly? I would heavily enjoy a flawless magdump 99% of the time :( but I dont want to spend a bunch of money on pricey slugs if its avoidable. Advice?

Never shot anything but cheap walmart bulk , some down to 1 oz shot. runs 98% , shot about 20 slugs ran 100%

    3 MKA's

Just shot a 3 gun match this weekend , my MKA , ran the best , I've NEVER had more any feed issues with guns , glock 17 , 4 mags crapped out(arrendondo) , my AR wouldn't pick up the first round.anger.gif

I'm extremely jealous that your 1919 functioned almost flawlessly out of the box with walmart bulk ammo :/ Did you modify your 1919? Was it a firebird conversion? All I did was install a tromix gas bushing and even then that wasnt enough to cycle cheap bulk ammo :/

  10. I bulk bought 250 shells of "Low recoil" Royal buckshot 1200fps

    http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/product/AMM-8491

    and 250 Centurion #8 1400fps

    http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/product/AMM-8180

Had about a 65% success rate with the buckshot and about 15% with the centurion (I had 1 Tromix gas bushing installed when I shot the centurion ammo)

I shot approx 75 shells of 00buck and 100 centurion and had little improvement in cycling success

a lot of failure to eject, failure to extract from magazine, and several stovepipes

    Very disappointed.

How did the rest of you get so lucky to get well cycling 1919s?
