  1. SOME PEOPLE! Why would anyone order a CUSTOM part, and expect the manufacturer to supply the tools to install it? Seriously? An Allen wrench. GOOD God, people, if you don't have an allen wrench set, Metric and standard, you don't need to be working on anything. One doesn't go buy a replacement water pump for their car, and get a free tool set with purchase. Why should this be any different? You don't buy a plastic model of a car, and get free paint and glue. ETC, ad nauseum... I just don't get some people. AK Designs rocks.

  2. My adapter came with holes drilled and tapped on the legs where the reciever plugs would be located. Presumably to use 10/32 screws, or 8/24, I haven't checked it yet. I have not test fit it onto a weapon yet. It is a very nice high quality piece. I like the addition of those 4 screws, even if they don't support much, far better than plastic plugs. I will use 4 button head allen screws. It makes for a more secure mount. This is a nice option to the fixed stock, or the folding stock.

  3. Years ago, I took a tour of the Battleship Texas, docked in San Jacinto. It had 16" guns. it was most impressive. What amazed me most, was what little room they gave the crewmen. Chainlink hammocks stacked six deep from the ceiling, a foot of room from yours to the next above you, and a foot square locker. Everything was completely packed tight, except for the officers quarters, lol. The engine room was magnificent, with 6 foot tall connecting rods operating the pistons in an engine that you could literarly walk through. It was almost like a cutaway model built to enormous scale. Thank you Cameron! That was very cool! Very Nice! If you ever get a chance, tour one of these old battleships. You will not regret it.

  4. I had a teacher back in high school that tipped us off to multi-question tests. He maintained that it was just a few questions asked over and over again, but in a different format each time. As long as you can recognize the format and answer the questions the same, you should pass the test. ie. Most of the questions are the same. Just worded different, or placed in different scenerios. At the time, this did not include any real world test administered by companies, but I have found it to be an invaluable helpful tool when taking any test. Just watch out for the same question posed in different scenerios. and answer accordingly. I have found in the past, that most mental evaluation tests are based like this. There might be 150 to 200 questions to answer, but only 15 real questions asked. Good Luck.

  5. Got mine a day or two ago. VERY nice quality! Very professional. Very nice - damn you. I've been on the fence about buying another S-12. You just convinced me. lol. damn you! Why anyone would need more than 1 of these shotguns? You just gave me an answer. Thank you for the extremely quick service! And to not have to cut the tang. You guys rock! Shotgun 4. Soon to be. Like Lay's potato chips........

  6. I guess that I am glad where I live. I can go out into the country a few miles, where there is a popular shooting spot Unfortunatly, it is only about 25-30 yards. Good for pistol stuff. There are plenty of other spots, also. I can go down to the river, which entails passing through a few farmers gates. I always open, then shut the gates behind me. I always take a couple of trash bags and pick up debris. I have been contacted once by the guy that owned the land. He thanked me for the gate thing, and thanked me for picking up trash, and thanked me for not driving all over his crops. He must have been watching me. That's happened twice on two different places. Little things matter. It's called respect. It goes a long way. I have had people drive up and want to know what I was shooting, I'd offer them to shoot it, and then they would get out their own stuff to show me and offer me to shoot it. It's all good. There is no reason to provoke anyone, or try to scare them to make your point. If you are already shooting a shotgun or rifle, a pistol strapped to your side won't make any difference. I also clean up my own shells/hulls. It's easier if you put a large cheap blue tarp down first! lol.

  7. I think GunFun was right on the mark. The first 2 videos that he gave as an example are exemplary. There is absolutely no reason in this day and age to simply strap on a gun and carry "just because I can". Yeah, it is your right. But don't be a dickhead about it and do it just to cause alarm. As pointed out in the video, there are far better ways to get your point across, many of them positive. No need to give anti-gunners more "ammo". Be smart. My state is an open carry state. Many times, when I am going out shooting, or just out for a stroll down by the river, I open carry. I sure wouldn't do it in the middle of my small town. I could, but damn! Sometimes you have to use some common sense, or as my mom used to say - use the goddamn brains that God gave you. I sure as fuck wouldn't do it in the middle of a populated area. I'm all for educating people of their rights, but this is just back asswards cop baiting and sensationalism. If I was anti - gun, this would make me more anti - gun. Think!, people. Use the goddam brains that God gave you. A cops job is hard enough without shit like this. An open carry civilians job is hard enough without shit like this. Discretion is the better part of valor.

  8. 25 years ago I bought one of those Frisbees that had LED lights in it. Sounded like a good time for nighttime fun. Until someone tossed it to you. You had absolutely no concept of where the thing was, because there was nothing to judge any correlating distance or size or speed to it. Most often you would get smacked hard in the face while trying to catch it. All you could discern was lights coming at you. Then, BAM! A coupe of tosses with that thing sucked the fun right out of it. lol. Sorry, but I can't see any difference with your concept. I did buy some UV LED lights for my car dash from SuperBrightLeds dot com. They sell THOUSANDS of different types of LED bulbs - not just automotive. I own a 72 Challenger, and the gauges are not backlit. They rely on a "light bar" to shine light onto the faces. I was messing around in my garage on night with a UV LED flashlight one night, and happened to notice how cool the gauges looked whine I shone the UV light on them. Light grey numerals with very bright orange indicators/needles. So I am working on converting them over. I have to convert the original bulbs (spade type) to festoon type, (tube shaped). LEDs are a direct type of illumination. Typically, the light does not "scatter". The festoon bulbs only have a 30 degree viewing angle. You have a cool idea that sounds nice on paper, but real world will be a dissapointment, I think. Of course, every time that someone tells me it can't be done, it makes me want to do it just to prove them wrong!

  9. I worked with a guy last trip (RailRoad) He had always been "free health care" "pro-obama" and anti - anyone owning a (hi-cap, anyway) gun last time I worked with him. (a few years ago) i always watch what I say. (shit can haunt you). Out of the blue, he stunned me and asked who I would reccomend to buy a self defense weapon from, where the good deals were. He wasn't his usual anti everything self. He was actually looking for a gun. I was vague, but pointed him in the right directions. Maybe the tide is turning.

  10. Got the underfolder in the mail 2 days ago, on the way to work. it was like, $29.00 from Sportsmans Guide. Now, I need to order the trunnion. Looks like $100 or so. Some places had brand new cnc milled ones. I'll have to check it all out. Not a whole lot of places these are available from. But they are out there. This is gonna be COOL! lol. I like it already. I like it A LOT! I'm looking forward to it! I embrace different. I can't stand to have an unmodified gun, now that I've built my first S-12, and my second, and now re-modding my third. It's like having a badass cool muscle car, and modifying it to your "day two" specs how you want it. Except, MUCH cheaper. lol. Thanks everybody for the responses. This site rocks!

  11. Thanks for the pics and info Cobra. I don't like the look of the add on deal, and the extra length that it would add. I'm looking for a Polish rear trunnion to do it right. The S-12 in question of mine has a DPH stock, and with the bolt on side folder, adapter, and limb saver, etc, it is just not comfortable for me. It is too long. As far as recoil, I'm more than happy with my Bulgarian and Romainian side folders with Grenade launcher butt pads on my other S-12's. Even with 00 Buck and slugs. The Polish underfolder tilts down, so I'm sure it will be the same as the wire folders. I will use a grenade butt pad on it also. I don't have a problem with cheek weld. The factory wire side folders just "fit" me. And work superbly. Perfect length. Little or no recoil. The gun I have this in mind for, I cut the tang already. So a new trunnion is no big deal. My 1st S-12, I cut the scope mount off of, so no big deal there, either. I can do it again. It's a shotgun. Scope mount, lol. IT"S a SHOTGUN! lol. Please. Get real. Mag capacity is no issue either. With it extended, I'm sure it will hold 20 rd Davis drums just fine. As soon as I get this done, I will probably have a pay it forward for the old set up. By the way, KTM, when has user friendly and cheap ever been a part of these ? lol. I have 2 others to play with. I'm betting this one will be my new favorite when I'm done. I was actually thinking of buying another S-12 for this project, until I realized that the rear trunnion would mean cutting off the tang anyway. So it's all good. I don't have money to burn, but I want what I want before I fart my last time. A buddy asked me, "What the hell is up with all these shotguns?" LOL. I couldn't tell him any good answer. It's a sickness.

  12. Hang in there GPD. Just remember that you were as important to him, as he was to you. In my experience, the pain never goes away. I had to put my Chow down after almost 17 years. Cancer. I still miss her since 2006. It sounds like that you both shared some very special times together! They ask for so little, yet give so very, very much. Unconditionally. Take care of yourself and your family.

  13. Working with a co-worker. Got talking about guns. He's gonna have Cabelas order him one. So far, have gotten 2 guys to get s-12s and 1 guy get a Saiga 410. I'm doing all I can to spread the love. I hope that you are, too. I'm not bragging. I'm on a mission. Spread the love. My 2 favorite quotes from first timers, 1) Is that thing legal? and 2) do you want to sell it? It's all up to you guys. Go get 'em.
