1. Profiling a bolt is half a step to get it running target loads. Mainly done to load on a closed bolt.
2. My sgl12-09 bolt is just like the one in the pictures???
3. If you ports are not correctly sized, it eill be under gassed regardless.

I know they are but the ones I saw were a few months back some small outfit made a handful of them.

Its going to be a hard battle but she doesnt have a job. Lives off the government and the money I send her. She a "full time" student but again 5 different homes in less than a year. She has nothing but my son. I gotta go all in.

Horrible day yesterday... my exs mother called saying I need to get my son away from all that temp... because he is in a bad situation. They were going to back me 100% on getting him away from her til she could finish her summer semester at her college. She has been staying with a guy who has beat my son not soanked and was force feeding him til he was crying and chokes on his food. Nonetheless my son is 2-1/2 yrs old. Her mom had her daughter agreeing to him staying with me for the summer til she can finish school and move back to the town where all his family lives at the same time as me continueing my chikd support checks to her. While I take care of him. I backed out and said I will fight for full custody. Now her mom said she will not back me at all and I wont have any proof of what was happening to my child. So im going to contact cps and a lawyer today. She left the guy she was with. Has lived at 5 different addresses in the last year. Has no job. No money (except what I send her for child support and she buys ciggerettes and booze.) No stability. But without proof of what was going on im stuck in a hard spot.
She has 2 past cps cases against her one for each child. Gave custody to her ex gor her oldest son to get cps off her back. She was arrested for PI because she wasnt in the drivers seat when they found her after wrecking my jeep with her son in the back seat. They found her in the nude. And the police report said some pretty awful things. The other was failing a drug test while pregnant with my son.
I have to get him away from her. She is a horrible mom that puts herself first and he is not in a good environment... pray for me guys.

Sorry to hear about your barrel.......I used a 40 lb dumbbell with the rubber coating on it (for a platform) and hammered quick and firm.Eh, I've had the night to think about it and stop being such a whiner about it. Gotta pay to play, right? I'm going to buy one of the US made barrels. Is there a consensus on a recommended manufacturer for them?
As for doing an SBS via Form 1, I'm a lowly Hoosier and we aren't allowed to have SBS here, or I'd have started the paperwork long ago.

Tromix monster brake is like 5.8" oal. Cut the barrel to 13 and your set

I've been thinking of getting the 12 inch one and perm. attach a muzzle brake to bring the over-all length to 18.5". Problem is trying to find that long of a muzzle brake.

why not buy a after market gas block. dont they sale those?
Currently the only way to get a gas block is second hand unless you know someone with one in Russia.

Ya but still if your hitting the dowel pin right n and u have the gun stabelized the block should have turned. Worst xase scenario is put the one dowel pin you originally got out back on for more resistance making the chances lesser that it would spin.

Good response.. but barrage did say he had a block of wood under the gas block thats why I dont see how the gas block moved at all.. this is a first as far as I can tell. I had block of wood under stock and gas block and mine didnt rotate on me at all. Let me know if you talked to that guy I mentioned earlier..

I have just read myself there is people who can fix problems like that as long as its not a "CREASE" which you might be in luck. Guy named Michael Orlen.. google him, does shotgun work in MA.. Call him tomorrow and have him give you a price on getting that taken care of and you might be good to go, unless any of these saiga junkies have experience in that line.. I think mine has some boogers in it.. ill beable to blow through 30,000 more rounds before i need to worry about it lol. Its a AK :-P

mine was mushroomed from hitting it so many times..and it still formed itself somewhat small enough to come out the hole without doing ANY damage.. I would have to say something happened besides it being hammered on. No way the dowel pin bends and deforms the barrel right there.. That punch had to be in the whole somewhat and it got wacked in the wrong spot and missed the dowel or something other than hammered the dowel pin did that.. no pictures of the process?

man no way it should have done that. i drove like 10 railroad spikes worth of hits.. fire some buckshot through it... see it smooths it out.. you can smooth the highspot out and still have a working gun.. i dont see it affecting anything once that spot is smoothed
Another question. While using the punches, did the dowel pin at all? What size punch? If you use a broken punch and hit too hard it WILL get stuck in that dowel hole and can cause that problem (didnt to mine though). Im still clueless...

What size punch were you using?? If I were you.. I would load a slug in it. Take it too the backyard and tie some string to the triger.. run a few through it if u just dont care. Might smooth it out and I thnk youll be ok. I dont see how that happened unless you were using the wrong size punch... you do know they make replacement stainless steel us made barrels right?

I just dont see how that barrel could have been damaged from wacking on a dowel pin... i mean i beat mine so hard my girl thought i had broken it lol. it worked like a charm after a few good wacks, no damage to the dowel groove just the pin was all bent and smashed on one side, smoothed and rounded it back out, did at the sccritterkiller said and took a small file and a drill and chucked it up, angled the dowels and installing and removing was wayyyy easier.. im just still in "awe" over the barrel getting a high spot from the damn dowel pin..

I actually had the same problem today as the guy who posted this. I kept getting hung up.. this whats towards the end of the day after blasting 120 no problem.. Come to find out.. someone said those shells get soft while out in the heat... well that had the be the issue, they had to swell up some because it was hanging there almost every other round then i dropped it like its hot and all 14 came flying out from behind it.. Wonder if I need to start keeping a small ice chest around to keep these puppies tight

What does the groove on the barrel look like, I beat the piss out of mine. No dents nothing.. You said your gas block moved, you sure those wacks with the dowel pin were not hitting that gas block a little? Hmm... Is that "dent" located exactly right where the groove is at? That barrel is pretty damn tough man. From the pictures, it looks as if that dent is exactly where those gas ports are located not in front but hard to tell? Have you rubbed anything on it to see how much of a "raise" is actually there or just visually inspect it?
Also, did your buddy at the machine shop not have a 2 ton press available?
You would be the FIRST that I have ever seen of a dowel pin damaging the barrel...

Trust me, most you will hurt is the punch, the dowel pin will come out one way or another but you can A. make another or B. buy replacements from CSS

any decent gun smith should beable to cut a barrel and rethread.. or a good machine shop

Yea it was a bitch. Lower dowel was 2 wacks and right on out. Now the dowel holding a detent was another story. Rest the gun barrel/gas block on a block of wood and a block under the back close to the buttstock if not on it. Take a short 1/16 punch or cut one thats 1/8inch long. Use a small sledge you can get at lowes or home depot. One thats handheld. Then... wack as hard as you fucking can. My dowel pin was jacked up looking for sure. It smooshed one side of the dowel so bad I had to grind it off and smooth it out. Anyways itll take a fee good solid wacks to even see it move. It was very heartbraking as I scratched my gad block but I didnt givr a shit at that point lol. Get a 1/8 punch. Take it too a grinder and shave it down to .095-.100 and once u get it to move so alighty with a broke 1/16 go to town on it with the shaved 1/8. Goodluck and dont worry about a few scratches. Its cheap russian paint anyways. Have fun cause I know I did... also once out.. take some sand paper to the dowels and slick em up. Sure did go back together easier then it came off.
