I assume you ordered from the forum store. They have always shipped very quickly and had great customer service.
Don't worry, your package will arrive before you know it.

I'm not sure. I know that I was able to get a Vepr 5.56 magazine to fit and feed in a Beryl, so compatibility might go both ways.
You might have some wobble though as I remember removing a fair amount of material from the Vepr mag to get it to lock in.

...Is it a straight or slant back, and what's the tang set up? The car stock would get pulled and replaced immediately (if possible)
It has its own unique trunnion with a buffer tube coming off the back which means that you won't be able to us AK stocks. The tube is milspec though, so you can use any AR stocks that you like.

Just a quick heads up that there is a thread in progress on this topic at http://forum.saiga-12.com/index.php?/topic/98286-new-ak-shotgun-that-takes-s12-mags-ddi/
Also, you should probably remove that link out of respect for the forum rules. Links to vendors only.

$450 folding mechanism, did I read that right?
Plus the 922 swaps mentioned below...
Edit: JDeko beat me to it.

Royal Tiger Imports is blowing out their inventory of Beryl magazines. These are the current issue green translucent mags.
They should work great in Saiga .223, SLR106, and of course Beryl rifles.
$28.95 each or buy 10+ at $21.00 each.

Unless it's an amazing deal ($200 +/-) I would recommend saving up a little more and buying a Vepr or Saiga.
If you're patient, you can also watch for upcoming reviews of DDI's Chinese shotgun, but I think you'll be glad you spent the extra money if you go Russian.
KVAR has the fixed stock model V12s for $699.00. That's a shotgun that will last a lifetime, where the reports on the Furys don't seem very favorable.- 2

You can do a Google search for RS Regulate BM-12. I have one and it's pricey, but perfect.

Why not? If you have standard Saiga in 7.62x39 the Zhukov will bolt right on. Am I missing something?

There are some rock and lock S12s that came in with a factory LRBHO. I'm not sure if that's what he has, but if so they will only function with special factory LRBHO magazines that are nearly impossible to find. This system actually makes it so that some standard S12 mags won't even function in the gun without modification.

There's no guarantee that either rifle will be available to purchase new again. KVAR/FIME has announced that they will be the new importer of Veprs so there's a chance that the IV could come back in stock, but there are no guarantees when it comes to imports.
We've likely seen the last of the SGL31s unless something drastic changes on the political scene.
To me, this is really going to boil down to which rifle you prefer to own.If these are just collector's items to you, then it's all about personal preference. If you plan on using them as tools you'll simply need to decide if you want a lighter weight rifle made to be maneuverable or if you want one designed to lay down fire from the prone. The SGL is more versatile, while the IV is more specialized.
With the import status of the IV being unknown I can't really speak to the future value of either, but fewer of the Veprs were imported so if they don't bring in any more, they will probably be worth more down the road.Pick the rifle that you want to own the most, and enjoy it.

I don't know what they paid for them when they were imported, but they used to be $150.00 a few years ago.
Even sellers like Legion USA and the forum store have sold them for comparable prices. These businesses are not gougers so I'm guessing that after covering all import costs, these still probably cost these stores $60-$80. I'm just speculating though. With all that said, they are still by far my favorite magazines and I wish I had more of them.

That's weird. I would have bet money that it was just an inside issue. If it's a real problem, call or email Primary Arms on Monday and they'll issue you a return shipping label and send you a new one as soon as the old one is in the mail. They have awesome customer service and will definitely take good care of you.
Here's a post from ARFCOM with a reply from Primary Arms on the same topic...

I just purchased a Primary Arms Micro Dot With Fixed Base (Gen. 7) and mounted it today on my Ruger 10/22. I have a question as I'm not all that familiar with red dots. When looking through the sight, the bottom right corner of the scope is blocked off, that appears normal as that's where the guts of the scope are. I also see the upper left corner is completely drowned out by a red glare. I handed off the rifle to a couple of buddies that happened to be over for a BBQ, they both commented and asked "is something wrong with your scope?" They saw the same disturbing red glare in the upper left corner of the sight when looking through it. Can anyone please advise further?
Sounds like a normal reflection. You see the same question come up about Aimpoints.
Look at the target with both eyes open not into to it. After a short time you will see a dot on the target and nothing else.
If it does not work out for you I will be glad to take it back.

oh no • a year agoI just bought one. I notice a diagonal hue/line a crossed it in certain lighting angles (e.g. sun to back). Some type of reflection (interior or exterior) or something other. It is still usable and I will run it til it breaks.
I also notice numerous reflection in the lens. Still usable though but still like wtf...? I am not a fan of the coatings scope manufactures put on the lens. Especially on the exterior surfaces. Not sure if these are exterior or not.
One issue is that to sight it primary micro ads in, the arrow directions were exact opposite. To make the dot go up one had to turn it the opposite direction of the up arrow. Same with the right to left. Don't know what is up with that.
Rugrash oh no • a year agoIf you mount the sight on the weapon, you shouldn't see any strange reflections. If you are looking at it by just holding it in your hand and at different distances/angles you will see things like you are describing. Also, the dot should be just bright enough to see it. If it is too bright it will cause starbursting and you will get some weird looking reflections that way too.
With regards to the directional arrows, they should be used to adjust the point of impact downrange, so it should be opposite. You can always call the customer service people if you need to.
Thanks!
I have not a lot of use with the sight yet. To note, I see reflections while shooting. One is the red diagonal line/hue. Others are 'mirror' reflections, e.g. seeing my truck behind me or other. Both these occur at various lighting and angles, but not always.
Understood on the starburst effect. Usually do the lowest setting on a white background during mid day, ~4-6 setting.
Regarding the sight arrows, if I shot low and needed to adjust poi up, I turn the top knob in the 'up' arrow direction. This did not work. I had to turn the opposite direction to adjust the poi "up".
I will consult PA customer service. They are great to deal with when necessary. Wish it was unnecessary.

It's just a function of looking at it with indoor lighting. I had the same concern but if you take it outside you won't see it at all.

The green antifreeze in hidden bowls. But I would never do that.
My little brother worked nights, neighbors dog barked all day, they refused to do anything about, little shit laid a 30 06 out the bedroom window and solved the problem...
Do they eat meat? Crushed up glass in a meatball has taken care of many animals around here. If not, maybe crushed up glass in some bread.
Apparently we have some cold-hearted bastards on this forum.

Have you considered the Zhukov hand guard and Ultimak combo? The Zhukov is pretty heavy but makes for a solid and functional front end. With these two parts I can't think of anything that you couldn't mount to the rifle and you won't have rails where you don't need them.

That looks great! Is it a chop and perm to 16" or an SBR? I would expect that after spending that kind of time and money on a rifle that you would want some quality mags to go with it. Any plans to pick up some CSSpecs mags?

These would be really cheap to set up on a perimeter trip wire. I would see it as a short term solution as you would need to change them out every time it rains, but if you're dealing with javelinas, you're probably not seeing much rain. Hopefully it would only take one or two startles to make them associate your property with an unpleasant experience.
You can get 72 of them for $5 at BudK.
If you do set something like this up, be sure to put up a trail cam and share the hilarity.
Edited for typo

How big is the area that you need to keep them out of? I'm just throwing out hair-brained schemes off the top of my head for fun, but I wonder if you could rig up some deterrents via motion detectors. Maybe sprinklers modified to spray wildly with high pressure, or loud but short running alarm sound? I'm mostly familiar with these critters from 'Ol Yeller so I don't know if things like this would phase them, but if you can succeed in startling the shit out of them every time they cross the perimeter, they might choose to feed elsewhere.

It would be a good exercise for you to learn how to completely disassemble your bolt. It's not at all difficult and will allow you to thoroughly clean it out and not have to worry that you have leftover gumout or other substances stuck in there. Hoppes or CLP will work fine at that point and you'll learn more about how your gun is put together. Get out a little container to hold your pins and other small parts as they are prone to disappearing if you bump the table. As me how I know.

Primary Arms MD-ADS. Turned on 2-3-16 16:45 MST
This is a great optic. I'm not sure if you've owned one before but with all the features, specifically the battery life, it's a hell of bargain.
I've bought four of them so far (one as a gift) and am very happy with them. I have owned the previous models and love being able to leave this one on full time without paying Aimpoint prices.
Aimpoint may theoretically have the edge in durability/reliability, but that's almost a moot point with a QD mount to get rid of the optic in a bad situation and Primary Arms awesome warranty and customer service backing it up.

This is way outside of what I have experienced buying from the store. They usually ship the next business day. Send Jane an email or call (404) 987-0707 and find out what's going on. I'm sure she'll take good care of you.
