  1. I'm on 5 different boards, and that petition is posted on all of them multiple times.

I've already signed the petition for the good it will do. And I've written my representative and both senators, which will do alot more good.

And no I'm not defending myself to you. I'm just pointing out that your conclusion from the view count is not valid.

  2. Well it certainly wasn't my intent to start a debate about pump vs. Saiga (on the Saiga forum, duh), despite the title of the thread. I just thought the picture was interesting. I had always thought the 19" Saiga looked big in pictures but when I got it I was impressed that it was actually shorter than my 870.

I know none of us would volunteer to be on the receiving end of ANY shotgun.

  3. Well boys and girls... Looks like the fun's over. Knoxx has discontinued the Sidewinder and try as I might I can't find one of the NLFDs anywhere.

I've got two, was thinking about building a back up competition gun from my 590, it's in my "round tuit" list. Let me know if you are looking to "stock up" and I'll pull the plug on that project (it's flat lined for quite some time!).

I made a deal to get the one from MAC_TEK. I don't have the funds to do more than 1 at the moment.

  4. If you wish to use the 870 Bill Zumbo hey go right ahead it will do the job but what ever you choose you need to be an expert with it.

I may be new around here but I'm not new to life or to firearms. It certainly isn't necessary to imply that I am somehow like zumbo because I choose a pump shotgun to defend my home and family. I would never claim to be an expert in firearms but I am a competitive shooter and taught marksmanship in the Corps. And though I don't claim to be an expert (because I can always be better than I am) I'm willing to bet my life and the life of my soon-to-be wife on my ability and my choice of tools.

I won't insult you for your choice and I'd appreciate it if you refrained from insulting me for mine.

Just my not even slightly humble opinion.

  5. +1 to that.....cycling a round into a stotty is way over rated as a deterent....keep 1 in the chamber and the safety on.

Just curious... On what do you base this belief that the sound is "way over rated"? I'm willing to be re-educated if I've missed some research on this topic...

I've been on the receiving end of that sound when I had a little misunderstanding with the police in my earlier years. I had no evil intentions to begin with but hearing that sound behind me turned my blood to ice and every muscle in my body locked up. In fact the cop had to yell at me twice to get on the ground cause I was having trouble moving.

  6. THE FUTURE OF THE 870 IS DUCK HUNTING!

My 870 has never been hunting and never will. It will continue to serve as an outstanding defense tool ready to dissuade uninvited guests from their nefarious intentions. I take nothing away from the Saiga, but I will continue to rely on my 870 for HD.

  7. Now I'm gonna get really silly. Look at this. Look very closely at these statistics for 2003. Hit the link and scroll down.

    http://www.nsc.org/lrs/statinfo/odds.htm

More people were killed from falling off of furniture than were killed by assault rifles.

More people were killed from falling in the tub than were killed by assault rifles.

More people accidentally suffocated in there own beds than were killed by assault rifles.

More people choked on their own dinners than were killed by assault rifles.

I really think that Congress should be putting more energy into banning the truly dangerous things, like chairs and bathing.

I think I'll have T-shirts made that say "Your bathtub has killed more people than my assault rifle"

    .

We can do that! I print shirts

So got any info on volumes, pricing, options...

  9. That's how mine started out.

Hope the wife is cool with it becoming an addiction.

Then again you can always blame her for getting you started!

She did buy me the Saiga, but considering the ** guns I already had I don't think I can blame her for my addiction.

But I don't thing she'll complain since she has ** guns of her own and is still expanding her collection.
