  1. Heh, yeah. When I got 5 of 7 mags working I figured it was the 2 uncooperative mags that needed to get filed to fit, not the gun. Hopefully I wont get in any trouble for my intolerance towards magazine diversity...
  2. Ok, I figured out what was up. I'd filed the mag catch so that it was just barely accepting commie mags, and was holding them really tightly. I didnt want to remove too much, but it seems I didnt remove enough, and I guess it must have been holding the mag too high, or at a weird angle or something and was interfering with the carrier coming home. I filed more off the catch and just cycled a mag through and everything seemed to work fine. I guess its better to have those a bit too loose cause its still grabbing some mags really tight. Anyway, thanks alot guys.
  3. Its round trunion. Position looks pretty much the same as your pic, I used a reg saiga mag as a guide as to where the bullet guide should be installed. It seems like my guide is longer below the attachment screw, but mine isnt worn like that, and your guide is foreshortened in that pic, so its hard to be sure. Havent gotten a chance to mess with it yet today, I'll do that stuff that was talked about and let you all know how it goes.
  4. I'm letting it slam home when I'm testing it, and pulling it back sharply. The mags are commie surplus steel, tried 3 of them, ammo is a mix of wolf and tula. I just did a crappy contact test with a paint marker I had around, it looks like there might be contact with the upper left side of the guide, but thats not conclusive b/c the marker paint didnt do a very good job. I'll try that again when I get somethign decent to cover the guide in. It'll be a little while before I can get some pics up. I'll see if there is any contact and try smoothing out the edges. How'd you go about doi
  5. Hello all, Just installed the bullet guide on my Saiga 7.62, its one from carolina shooters supply. When I hand cycle the rifle I'm getting a pretty consistent failure of the shell to be extracted from the chamber. Seems to feed fine, just isnt getting the round out. It was working fine before the guide was installed. I'd guess that the bullet guide is keeping the bolt from going fully forward and the guide might be a little too long, even though it looks like the bolt is closing on the chamber fine when I push the carrier forward. Am I on the right track with the guide being too long, or
