I don't think I have a buffer, as in I never installed one or paid to have one installed.

They are limited in regards to the range of loads that will run in them with no way to adjust the gas system. They look great though.
Mine is choking up on hot ammo now but not as much on mid-range stuff. Does seem like a flawed platform.

About the KS-12, I am energized. I'm getting sick of Vepr 12s. I know people seem to have this idea in their heads that the Vepr 12 is higher quality than the Saiga 12, but it is not. Sure, they look nice, but the reliability potential with a short barrel is just not there, for various reasons. Sure, some are fine, but many are not. If the KS-12 is internally an exact clone of the Saiga 12, I will be over the moon. It will have great short barrel reliability potential, just like the Saiga 12.
I still have tons of trouble with my IZ-433 so it's good to know I'm not crazy over this.

The beech on my Saiga had spots that looked almost holographic when i first got it.

Same to you, good fellow.
And to everyone else here as well.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but that's a picture of a Saiga 308. They must've temporarily used that picture because they don't have the Saiga 12 page set up.Is it possible to put "standard" handguards on an unconverted front end? I just looked on Ironwood Design's page [happy they're still around] and they show an S12 with AK style furniture on it and the gas tube sticks way out in front.
as if you can then that pretty much removes my only reservation.
I thought it looked wrong but I never saw an IZ-109 with hand guard off so I didn't know if it had that angled bit connecting the gas tube to the barrel.

Me too, I see 3 or so flocks that reliably fly over my work every day from like September-December at streetlight level. At the very least whipping out a shotgun would scare off the hobos that keep harassing people in our car park.

I wish I could hunt geese with a CIWS turret
-
The sad thing is I got into goose hunting because I felt like I needed to justify buying my Saiga to myself [probably part of it was my very frugal father giving me the side eye for dropping a grand on something he couldn't understand the need for] and having pretty much struck out in only getting 5 ducks [and no geese] in the last 2 years. But oddly, even though I'm normally a bit of a quitter when I'm bad/unsuccessful at something.
I've been using my Mum's SXP which I bought her so she could hunt with me, but I was hoping I'd be more successful with it. To actually allow her to use her own gun I'm hoping to get a hunting shotgun and what better than a classic SxS? Along with being an American tradition and having really fast follow ups, plus getting to have two chokes at once, the chambers and where they lock up kinda look like a pair of voluptuous thighs, which is pretty great too.
I'm thinking of a Stoeger, either a 28in Uplander or the 30in Longfowler since they: have 3in chambers, swappable chokes, long enough barrels, the 28in has two triggers, are not 4 figures in price, and they aren't made in Turkey. I don't know if the extra 2 inches or the second trigger would be more helpful, and I'm displeased they don't have ejectors. If there were a 30in barreled, two-triggered, 3in chambered, SxS with swappable chokes and ejectors made in not-Turkey and not the price of a used car I'd love it.
Any advice would be very helpful and appreciated. With the EAA Witness and SXP I bought them pretty soon after making these threads so I WILL be buying a shotgun soon. Might also try picking up Pheasant hunting as guided hunts are dirt cheap and I could use the ego boost and meat to eat. Despite staying motivated it's tough to be reading about people coming home with full coolers and hunting for most of the meat they eat in gun magazines all day then coming up empty again and again.
Thank you all for your time reading this.

I really hope they make one with an AK front end like the 433s and Veprs. It might just be a cosmetic thing but to me it does look a whole lot better and from what I remember converting the front end was hundreds of dollars in parts alone.
I hope they don't. No adjustable gas block and makes it a PITA to chop one sub 10".
I mostly just care about the gas tube length I guess? I think that is the thing that matters as far as handguards fitting[?] Vepr mags fitting would be a bonus, I just want to have the AK-esque front end without paying 450 dollars to convert it. So best of both worlds: Vepr with an adjustable bloc.

Turns out that none of the factory fiber optic sights fit my model supposedly.

Does anyone here know if the fiber optic front sight [#303011] they sell would fit the 4.5in wonder steel frame base model [999220]? That is the one other thing I'd like to change on it besides the grips. Their site seems to be derping as far as "Contact Us" goes so I'm hoping someone here might have answers.
You can do the wood grips. It's a great first project and a LOT easier than restocking a double from scratch, and I managed to do that:
Give it a try. You might surprise yourself.
Man that wood grain is beautiful. The silver receiver as well.

Step 1: Buy gun first.
Step 2: Report back.
Steps 1 and 2 completed.
My usually proclivities are coming to light again and now I kind of want wood grips for it, but I can't find them anywhere.

Anyone ever find out if the large frame [10mm .45 acp some say 38 Super] Witnesses take CZ 97 grips? I suppose it would take owning one of both and testing it out or finding someone who had, hoping such knowledge exists somewhere in this group.

With the eager help of the NRA.

God, I remember the day after the election when people like MAC and others where making it seem like we could repeal the NFA and Hughes. Cut to 11 months later and Wayne's butt-buddy is talking about gun control, Chris Cox is telling the ATF to ban bump stocks and Paul Ryan is holding suppressors hostage.
Good things the Democrats didn't win, huh!?

That Walmart cheap shit has a tight pattern because it's barely moving. The velocity on the box is just a pipe dream. Sooner or later you'll stick a wad in the barrel from an undercharge. QC on that crap is nonexistent. Go ahead and keep running it....just make sure your insurance is current.
Huh, guess it's good I only found it in stock once. My insurance pays me to get a physical each year with a Walmart gift card which is why I bought some last year. Guess now I'll put that money towards Remington Hypersonic Steel for hunting instead.

I wonder if Woodchuck Autumn is out yet... The liquor store by my house used to sell it year-round but now it's only seasonal.

2 boxes of .38 Special to test out a Ruger LCR, not a bad trigger. I'll have to try it with .357 next time.
Also that 12 pellet Nobelsport 00 Buck is some hot stuff, its got more boom than Remington sluggers or even Brenneke slugs. It's funny with all the Remington "reduced recoil police loads" to see the Italian Police give exactly 0 fucks. Patterns really nice too, probably the second best pattern I've gotten besides that cheapo shit from Walmart that inexplicably has the most amazingly tight patterns out of my Saiga.

National Reciprocity passing so far
in General Discussion - Any topic is welcome here!!!

The senate already drafted up a separate "NICS Fix" bill so National Reciprocity is dead and that will probably get passed.
