I've had run-ins with a lot of bad things in dreamland, but not in waking life.
Although I did wake up with something sitting on my chest and trying to choke me one night (no, not the wife).
For whatever reason, I was not panicked at all.... at the moment it even seemed comical this thing was trying to hurt me.
I laughed at it and told it, "Jesus is coming.... you better run!" It worked.
Same thing happened to me once, actually there is a medical term for this. When you sleep, some signals are disconnected from brain going to your muscles, so you don't act out 100% of your dreams. During a night, it's possible to wake up and not have complete control, i.e. feel completely aware of everything yet be paralyzed to do anything. It usually doesn't last long but scares the bejeesus out of you.

I was looking for alternative S12 mags and I'm shocked that none are available yet.
Getting a patent can be for stopping others from building i.e. promag/surefire,
patents can be circumvented, by changing the design enough that it doesn't violate the original patent. or if the patent holder fails to pay a "maintenance fee" during the patent period (20 years), then the patent isn't protected any longer. or the patent holder "sells" the patent to another company, for a share per unit ETC...., but still retains the rights.
I know that PRO-MAG didn't wait no 20 years for MDA patent to run out, to make S12 drums. so either the design is different, or MDA didn't keep paying the "maintenance fee" or they sold the rights to PRO-MAG to make themActually the easiest way to circumvent a patent is to bust it with prior-art that was publicly available before filing date. I realize that US isn't big on rimmed rounds, but out East there is a wealth of experience on dealing with 303 and most importantly 54r. I sincerely doubt that something "novel and non-obvious" is coming out now, that's not publicly available from Soviet archives. 54r has been around for over 100 years. There is a mag capacity limit in Russia, so don't expect double stacks coming from there, which doesn't rule out the possibility of the designs floating around.

I completely agree with that. The reaction is usually defensive, like green tip ban results in some temporary outrage, lots of letters until ATF says "ok, we'll listen to your comments before making out decision."
The course of action should be to completely defund those dickheads and drive that initiative now until it's done. These mini-bans are small encroachments, little at a time to tighten the nuts quarter turn at a time.

I don't know any builders around Syracuse, there are AK build parties that spring up once in a while near the coast. The advantage there are people with tools and skills to help you along, but it's doable to find other people in your area or at least get your local friends interested in building. That way you can split the cost of jigs, tools and help each other.
You can get a receiver from Childer's for something like $50, so it's not that hard to get one. You'be better off getting a kit that comes with a barrel that was populated to the trunnion. One less thing that you have to do means less tools and less headache.

it's not just guns, it's not hard to figure out who on your block will have some valuables, smaller and easier to carry. Criminals love easy targets and prefer EASIER targets.

I really enjoyed reading up on slave's attitude in different time periods from Roman times to Slavs and subsequently Russian serfdom and Slavery in Africa and America.
While it is true that people who were not born into slavery were not quick to accept their fate, but not accepting their fate effectively killed them off much quicker. I think that most slaves did accept their fate, many more were even as content and quiet a lot would not imagine to be free.
In this day and age, people surrender scary freedom to own guns, any guns for some illusory security that state may provide. Illusory because it's completely imagined, i.e. people have little idea how little state wants and does actually protect them.
Freedom is a very scary thing, full of uncertainties and dangers of choice ... but in reality, the danger is not much greater than that of being a slave.

The rifle is in Cheyenne Tactical, 10.3mm. Trials are for ranges 2000 and 2300 meters (roughly yards) which is the max effective distance for this round.
There are no words on why this rifle is so much better than anything else, except that it is designed to shoot to really long distances. They claim that no other rifle in the world is manufactured to specifically shoot at 2k range. This one is, so it's top, kind of like America's baseball teams have "World series" (Baseball btw was invented by Russians)
