I find the controls on the 870 much easier to use than the 500. Guess I'm goofy too. And I'm okay with that.
I'm not saying Remmy controls don't work or can't be learned effectively, but on my Mossberg I can use all the controls quickly without breaking grip. But it's besides the point, the QC issues are a deal killer.

Due to the 870 slide release they couldn't put the magazine release at the back. Hopefully Mossberg makes one and puts the release in the right place. I won't buy any new Remingtons because the QC is crap and the controls are goofy, plus those magazine lips look sketchy.

Weird, I've never had a problem running my Henry .22lr fast. My Rossi clone of the old pump action Winchester .22 is another story though
My dad has a Winchester 62a, dang is it a nice shooter! Smooth and deadly accurate.

My Henry 22lr levergun works great. I can run it fast with no problems. I haven't had to contact their CS for any reason but I don't have any complaints so far. I want them to make a real suppressor host 16" carbine with a shorter 12 round tube so they can thread the barrel. That would be the ultimate varmiter.

The Grand Power K22s is very nice. It's got a great trigger right out of the box and you can usually find them for under $450. Easy takedown as well.

My dad just got a Palmetto State Armory PA-10 for $700. It's not top of the line but at that price you can swap out barrels and triggers if you so desire, and it comes with a nice M-Lok freefloat rail.

My personality type is ISTP. My mental process works in facts and concrete evidence, not emotion. I do my own research and make my own decision. If it's close to an established conspiracy theory, does that make me a fool? I don't think so. As others have commented, there are far, FAR too many verifiable facts on one side and few on the other. One or two oddball facts are one thing, but when they pile up it's only a fool who ignores it. I am under no delusion that the government is truthful, or cares about the citizens. Sure, not everything they do is bad, but in a pinch I would not trust them further than I could throw them.It is not difficult to fool people that desparetly want to believe the lie.
It is an age old maxum, one that formed one of the basis for Machivalien philosophy.
Kind puts a good deal of blame on the willingly deceived, I know the bible is full of condemnation for such but hey what did they know.

Old fire extinguishers make great bells (cast iron have the best tone).

I usually don't like light colored wood, but that grain pattern is gorgeous. You can do the wood grips. It's a great first project and a LOT easier than restocking a double from scratch, and I managed to do that:
Give it a try. You might surprise yourself.

Try removing the buffer completely. It doesn't help cushion very well, since the bcg will hit sooner and harder with that ~3/8 less travel. It tends to increase bolt bounce which will actually get worse the more overgassed the gun gets.

I have Verizon. 50 bucks a month for 7 gigs, plenty enough for me. I just buy smartphones that are a generation out of date for dirt cheap and stick a SIM card in. No contract

How hard is it to remove the factory rear sight and replace it with the Krebs part? Any"tricks" I should know about?
Use a dremel to cut across the sight almost all the way through. It will come out much easier.

2011? Old news. Also notice in the article the distributor explains how to easily remove the chip. I'm not worried, there are far more relevant issues to direct my paranoia towards.

That is no reason to not pass it. It may take a while but prices and inventory will eventually stabilize. You would also see the rise of easy to manufacture cheap disposable cans that last for ~500 rounds before you pitch it and buy a new one, similar to Europe. Not to mention Maglite/freeze plugs and oil filter adapters.I want the HPA to pass, but I am not looking forward to the endless inquiries about "Do you have any silencers for sale?" long after all available distributor level stock have been depleted and has went off the GunBroker for insane prices, which enough people will pay. The availability of newly manufactured cans will look like a trickle in comparison to the demand. Think 2013 panic for silencers instead of AR parts. A $500 can will likely be $2000, and so on. This is the reality of the situation, manufacturers can barely keep up with 8000 SOTs currently. Cans are already being sold and formed that have not even been manufactured yet. If HPA passes, the possible venues for selling these things could open up to about 80,000 or so FFLs, so try to wrap your head around how long it will take manufacturing to come close to meeting the demand of shops just wanting some inventory to sell. How many people who have refused to go NFA will be scrambling to buy a silencer if that passes? It may be a huge contributor to a long term deficit of available inventory. Of course, many manufacturers will be jumping on the bandwagon to offer their own cans and that will ease the pain a bit, but will not fill the massive void.

I'm not trying to brag, but I do darn good work and I'm proud of it. My co-workers don't always like me because I berate them for sloppy work since I'm the one who has to go back and fix it. However our company workforce is getting older and not many young people are coming in. It can be depressing.
