DOn't worry about color. Worry about performance, availability and price. That's it. You don't have to match your purse and your shoes.
I've already done my research on those. I know the color is superfluous.

So I'm getting a S&W M&P9C for concealed carry. I can get black or fde for the same price so I wondered what you guys think. Black: because it's a defensive gun and should be basic and stealthy. FDE: because it's different and looks cool. So have at it

IMO the challenger looks better. Todays charger should be called the coronet since its 4 doors.
I prefer the 2014 Charger with the big cross grille and the angular dimple in the doors. I don't like the newer ones, the smaller grille really killed the look.

As a side note, how well do the Torkmags load and function?

An AR15 trigger group has very close tolerances. If you get it wrong, it will be non-functional or even dangerous. Not something to screw around with. You must have some special reason to do 80%, because Anderson lowers are ~$60 bucks and dropping.

It's a big sandwich. Still cheaper than a lot of burger options.

I usually just go to Subway. The people seem to be nicer, perhaps because you interact with them longer. Plus I like the food better and you get more of it.

The BATFE is like a hornets nest. Nasty and should be gotten rid of. Olympic kicked the hornets nest and the hornets flew out and stung everybody. Plenty of blame to go around. BATFE is bad, but Olympic was stupid.

Torkmag has slab sided mags. They have a different spring arrangement and I don't know what the interior looks like but you might take a look.

I'd stick with Mil spec parts as much as possible. That way if things go up, you can cannibalize military rifles.
Okay, if you get a military M4/16, are you really gonna cannibalize it or are you just gonna slap your upper on a full auto lower?

For 16" barrel use a mid-length. 18"+ use a rifle length. This will make a smoother shooting gun that isn't overgassed.I was looking at some of the rifle kits on the PSA website. Is there any reason NOT to get one of those? If I did, the only other thing I would need is a lower of some sort,correct?
No, other than the fact that I've seen some of those kits on sale for less. Item 7781383 is actually a pretty nice deal though.
And yes, all you'd need is a lower and a sight/sights.
On the uppers,some of them say mid-length gas system,while others are carbine-length.Is one better than the other or are they about the same?

Well, I'm kinda biased, but I'd say the Ruger AR556. Really not much difference, basic ARs are all pretty similar.

Having done an 80%, I would only do it again if I had a milling machine. Even then, an Anderson lower for ~$55 would be my first choice.
