    Whatever Arsenal put in it. The guy I got it from got it from a guy complaining about it being a Bulgarian POS and not a real AK so he built a $500 AR for him and traded him. The guy I got it from had never shot it. Doesn't look like anyone has messed with it internally.

    Its way less picky than my S-20 which will only run 1 brand and load of ammo unless its really hot stuff, slugs or buck. It, the 410, ran a mag of some federal which ran just fine. Same stuff later that day and the mag became angry. Gun ran flawless. Cycled every time other than the mag not feeding it. When the mag did feed it ran like clockwork.

    I plan to get some 2.75" mags of more than 4 rounds for it.

     

     

  2. Pucked up an  Arsenal converted Saiga 410 the other day. Its dirty and needs a cleaning bad though it seems to be fine otherwise.
    I only have the 3" mag and for some reason the next round isn't always stripped off the top but pushed forward and down into the mag jamming the mag up. Any suggestions on that?

     

  3. Might as well get a G2 already modified for the saiga is you want to go that way. I believe CSS has them. I believe it is a width issue with the BHO latch.

     

    922r is stupid, serves very little purpose and is impossible to enforce. I don't believe anyone has been charged or convicted of a violation. I'm not going to go out of my way to find 922r parts. If a compliant part works best I'll grab that big not I won't.

  4. Why do you care about USA marked? Its not like the gestapo will come to check your 922r.

     

    Check out the ALG AKT. Should do the trick. Might need some massaging. I'm planning to get a few soon and fit them in every AK I own.

  5. Being vague on your answers is annoying.

    He was quite through on his answers. Guns built by CA are widely known to absolute garbage. CA imports some good stuff like NPAPs and WASRs but they cannot build a gun worth a crap. Most AK people will tell you the best thing you can do with a C39 or a RAS is melt it down before it kills you.

     

    The poor QC and materials used in them make all sorts of things happen that shouldn't including headspace changes.

     

    For the price CA wants for a C39 or a RAS you could get a NPAP or a WASR and a few hundred rounds of ammo and not have to worry about when its going to blow up in your face.

     

    Before you get to modifying it get a go/no go gauge for headspace. Check it regularly.

  6. Cobra asked me to email him. Sent him some photos on Facebook and was asked to email him. Havnt heard back from the email. That was last tuesday. I figure I either typed the email in wrong or he is busy.

  7. Just pulled my S20 out for a cleaning, which it didn't need, and I found the end of the carrier where the piston threads in is breaking off. Looks like 1-2 threads have broken off. Anyone experienced this before? Any recommendations? Feels no different than before, its always been sticky where the bolt rotates and locks in. The piston has a little wobble to it now but less than my NPAP!

  9. Im in. Getting a little tired of waiting for mags. Thinking of picking up a DDI 12 so I dont have to deal with finding S20 mags. Local shop has a decent deal on S12 10 rounders. $600 out the door would get me a DDI 12, 2 5 rounders and 2 10 rounder.

  10. OK, from what I've read you have to either cycle a bunch of rounds or do a reliability kit. I've done both and it's getting better but not great.

     

    Stock I could barely cycle Winchester Super Speed on setting 2 and no bulk stuff. I ran about 125+ through it that weekend. Checked the gas holes with a flashlight and not knowing much about them it looked OK.

     

    Fast forward to this weekend. Did the CSS reliability kit and the PG conversion and went to the 3 gun match. Hello bolt action saiga! Ran about 25+ through it like that at the shoot. What a pain. Checked the gas block again and I could feel one and 2 half holes with a tiny Allen so off came the block. Cleaned out the 3 holes with a tiny diamond tool and my fingers then did the best I could to clearance the gas block hole. Took it out today and ran about another 50 through it. By the last 5-10 rounds on Walmart bulk pack I could get it to cycle sometimes by gently pushing into the stock when firing it.

     

    Does this sound normal break in? Keep running the superspeed and maybe some buck or slugs through it?

  11. Hey guys! I'm a newbie to the forum and to anything Saiga/AK. Picked up a Saiga 20 NIB early last week while pondering a shotgun for 3 gun matches. Didn't even know saiga made a 20ga!

     

    Put about 100 rounds through it this last weekend and what a hoot! It would barely cycle winchester super speed. Ordered some stuff from CSS to replace the spring, puck and gas adjuster. Also did a conversion on it. It just looked so sad in its rifle stock.

     

    I do have a couple questions.

     

    Does anywhere have any mags for these things in stock? Can't find any at normal places like CSS and MS Auto.

     

    Another mag question; the 3" mag doesn't like 2 3/4" shells. It shoves the shell too high. Flipped the follower around and it's still a little high with the couple rounds I hand cycled then the last round chambers fine. Any suggestions?
