  1. Make sure your mag. is locking in completely every time. Sounds like the angle is a little too steep. Check the gas setting. Mine shoots well on #1.
  2. Only ones I've shot in mine are Remington and Federal High Brass. I would say the Remingtons chambered a little better but never had a jam with either while shooting.
  3. Ok--I'll check---The stock mag that came with it has a rear tab that is configured slightly different than the two extras I have, but one of my 3" new ones actually locks in better than factory. Thanks
  4. Got a question for you guys, I got my hands on a 2.5 in. mag for my Saiga and it won't quite go up in the reciever far enough to lock in the mag release. Do I just sand or file the rear tab that snaps into the release? and if so, do I trim it off the top of the tab or the bottom. Trimming off the top would let it go up further, but trimming off the bottom would let the release lock in. I don't want to mess up the angle of the feed. Thanks for any help, I know I've read where sometimes you have to work on them to lock in good.
  5. hahahaha Just bustin ya... I do a LOT of bunny hunting with beagles too.. .last time we went, we let 4 rabbits run... never BOTHERED to shoot...neither my partner, nor myself like to eat them... so we didnt want to kill them for nothing... they will be breeding stock for next year... season is over till fall. Yeah I know your just bustin me----you know how bunny huntin can go, those little boogers can be very smart, but I do go thru alot of briars and stuff in a hurry at times in order to be where I can see him when he crosses. I'm not thinking about what's scratching the Saiga at
  6. I'm assuming that's a front sight block, the kind that clamps on the barrel? I have been toying with that idea mainly to give me a longer sight picture and improve accuracy. How much is he getting for them? Don't really want to order one from Russia cause it takes so long. I'm not up on my saiga parts abbreviations so correct me if I'm wrong. BTW--Did you say you had some stocks you would part with? Thanks
  7. Kinda thought about doing that, but I really would like to have a high vis type. I guess stainless should shine pretty good. I found that British site but theirs only go up to 3.5mm. Was wondering about a post for a barrel-mounted sight. I found some in flourescent colors but it said they were M6. I'm assuming they are 6mm----correct? BTW---the size should read: 4mm x .7
  8. I'm fairly certain its supposed to read: 4mm x .7
  9. I agree with you 100 % Gunny. I'm not really interested in converting mine but I did toy with the idea of changing stocks to something a little different. I purchased mine at a small gun show about 45 mins. from here and I'm going back next week for another one so I'll see what they've got. Thanks for your comments.
  10. According to EAA, the front sight thread size on the S-.410 and probably the other shotties(on the gas tube) is 4mm x 7.
  11. Well I'm confused again. The article lists one of the bads as a threaded barrel. Most of the shotties were/are imported with a threaded barrel to accomodate chokes. My .410 was imported legally in the "sporter" configuration complete with the threaded barrel and choke kit--so its legal as is---correct. Or does the threaded barrel thing only apply to rifles? Gilberts Guns also has a skeletonized stock for the Saigas that do form a thumb-hole/pistol grip. I asked him about the compliance issue with adding the skeletonized stock to my unconverted .410 and all he said was that Saigas are now being
  12. I emailed EAA and they gave me the thread size for the front bead sight on the Saiga .410. The size is 4mm x 7. I think that may be standard for all the shotties. The only replacement aftermarket beads I've found so far that went that big was on a British website. I'll have to try and find it again. Hope yall can use this info.
  13. Yeah, I can take it back out and let my Buddy and Boss look at it, he's quite the machinist. I did see that Brownell's carries a few with metric threads and I believe they only go up to 3 mm. Thanks man.
  14. Oh--gotcha, #8 x 32 thread. Its been a long day. Thanks
  15. Oh--we got the beagles. We run anywhere from 12-15 at a time and hunt some pretty rough areas, but sometimes you still gotta get in the thick if you wanna see the bunny. 8/32's huh? That's .25" and too big I believe. I did several searches and really didn't come up with anything definite, although I seem to remember something about a 4mm diameter. Thanks guys
