Just drove two days from Mobile, Al to Lubbock, TX, with my wife and three cantankerous young'uns in the car... That is enough suck enough for anyone.
But.
I'm here because my father is lying in the hospital, and will not be making a recovery.
Our family awaits his passing.

I can't begin to tell you how sorry I am. I still have both my parents so I can only imagine what you are going through.....

+1 for Pauly. But the more I see situations like these, the more it seems like governments actually want their people to die, because they don't step in to protect at all. Our government wants the cartels to off some of those fascist, racist, and terrible Americans down there on the border who've done nothing but hold cartels from being honest-to-God, drug-peddling business men.
I will start by saying I wouldn't be surprised if this story is true and I wouldn't be surprised if this story is false. Having said that, I can't say as I think that the gov wants them dead. It's more like they just don't care if people are dying. They just see future voters coming in and that's it. AND, if this is true, they have a vested interest in denying it. It proves that since they have done nothing to secure the boarder, it's emboldened them to invade.

Should have ??? Hell, Mike, it was a three dayer (and ongoing after I had to leave to make it to work today)!! I make it to Tony's birthday every year, and this year was no exception !! As Bob said, it was an epic party !!

Went pretty good today. No cancer again. YES! Did some blood work and an X-ray, but it all looks good!

As for the beard, that is all that has managed to come back so far. AND, it's gray! Guess that's better than not coming back at all.

If you're short on funds, beans can be added as a filler. When I do, I use Great Northern or Navy, never kidney. BUT, I like my chili over rice and that's a good filler too.

I get what you're saying but personally, right now, I'm really not looking to give the government any more power than it has. Rep. Stark, in a Town Hall meeting, said the gov could pretty much do what it wants. This is what these people actually think!

Seems to me, checkpoints (not for DUI) treat officers like nothing more than tax collectors. As for DUI's, I agree we need to do what we can to keep all safe while on the highways and byways. BUT, in NC, 35% of all traffic fatalities are caused by people under the influence, but that leaves 65% caused by people that just DON'T KNOW HOW TO DRIVE!!!!!! I'm twice as likely to be killed by a sober person! Maybe we could prevent some of those by not passing DL out like flashing K-Mart blue light specials.

Certain drums fail and they get replaced. Yours don't fail.. ok.. and your pro-active when something comes up.. great.
Most people whom bought the ProMags couldn't WAIT for yours though.. And since they use them mostly for FUN and not DEFENSE then its a null point IMHO..
You both have NICHE's for us folks on here.. IMHO.
Just wish you all would stop arguing.

Yeah right. Our house was almost a living hell for a while there before Mike's drums came out. Shannon's neck was on the line the whole time being slowly chopped on by people asking him what happened to Mike like he was totally responsible for it. Shannon tried endlessly to reach him through all means he had. He was ignored every time. Shannon did EVERYTHING he could to keep this off the open forum.
And Mike, I guess I should take the blame on the grammar thing. He heard his share of bitching about that from me. It's just a peeve of mine. Like people who type in all caps or who don't use any punctuation. My bad. I would put this in a PM (personal message) but it seems with you that they are 'public messages' so I figured I'd save a step.
I had NO interest in getting into this. But you made it very personal. You put your interpretation of a conversation that was SUPPOSED to be private and put it out there for all to see. I wish you the best with your business and I truly hope you're done stepping on people to get where you want to be.

I'll just say here...not all women are out to screw their ex. I had an amicable divorce from mine. He was happy with what he got and I was happy with what I got. I would suggest, if you are going to get a divorce, to try to do it as 'nicely' as you can. It really is bad enough to begin with without starting WWIII.

in upstate SC we have a light coverig of snow, the grounds white but the weeds are still poking out everywhere.. not that cold though (I'm a bit suprised it stuck at all), I think NC got the best of it.
If this was the 'best', I don't think I care to see the worst!! LOL Had a little melting today but they are calling for freezing rain tomorrow. Awesome, just awesome. Maybe I didn't move quite far enough south!!

Thanks guys! It's been a long day but a good day. We weren't at the hospital for even 30 minutes! Shannon's Mom came over and so did my son and the brood. Had a real nice visit. My Mom came over this morning before we left and dropped off a rum cake for me that a friend had made. Almost had that for break fast! It was a good day all around. Too bad this wasn't Friday.

Shannon will be on Cisplatin. The main side effect is....nausea and vomiting. Shocker, right? Also, kidney toxicity, blood test abnormalities (low magnesium, calcium, and potassium), low white blood cells, and low red blood cells. Not as common are numbness and tingling in extremities, high frequency hearing loss, loss of appetite (his main loss of appetite will come from the radiation therapy), taste changes plus his little swimmers won't work as well but that's not a concern for us.
I can also tell you one of the main side effects of Fentanyl (his pain medication patch) is loss of memory!
Starting radiation tomorrow and chemo Wednesday. Wish us luck.

Well my Father took a turn for the worse. We got woke up by the hospital calling telling us he is not doing so good and that they wanted to talk to the family as soon as possible. They ended up putting him back on a ventilator and sedating him heavily for the next 2-3 days at which time if there is not significant improvement we will have a hard decision to make. He has always said he wanted to live as long as he could but that he never wanted to be kept alive by machines. So we could use your prayers especially in this trying time. Thank you.
I'm so sorry I haven't seen this until now. I couldn't imagine what you and your family are going through. I will pray for strength for all.

Also, Racegal, please keep in mind that all the attention goes to the person with cancer, and rightly so. But it takes a heavy toll on all the the loved ones around. Emotionally and physically as well. Take care of yourself so you can be strong for Cobra. Beat this shit!
I totally understand that. I took yesterday for myself. I woke up crying and pretty much did that all day. Needed to get it out of my system. Hadn't done it at all until now. I was getting an average of 4 hours sleep but I slept 9 hours last night. Think I finally got my batteries recharged. Plus I always have my family supporting me. Family is very important to me.
