  1. Sucks you don't have a pre conversion comparison. I had a similar sounding issue with mine when I installed a side mounted rail and put an eotech xps above the ejection port. What was happening was the round was ejecting just fine but it was hitting the sight and bouncing back into the chamber. Try it without the sight and then with the stock hand guard. Hopefully you may only have to move the red dot forward some

Yeah this can happen with certain optics/mounts in that position. Check out some slo-mo video of the S12 being fired and you'll see that the shells are ejected in a somewhat unusual manner.

  2. This is why I shoot on private property. Too many morons at public ranges for me to trust them.

I am 99% certain that, given the choice, we would all prefer to shoot on private property. Unfortunately that is not an option for a large number of gun owners.

BTW, am I the only person wondering why Mike Rogers would send that link to a gun blog?

  3. Sorry about the Indian movie thing. I googled the word dasvidaniya just to make sure of the spelling. I carelessly copied it and pasted it without realizing it was a link. Duh, my bad. I feel kind of dumb.

Don't feel bad. Its all in good fun. I got a laugh out of it, anyway.laugh.png

  4. I crimped mine onto the gas tube using pliers. Its not going anywhere. I've heard that some people's stay in place with just friction but mine was shifting under heavy loads. I did not have to mod the handguard (I'm using the KVAR RPK HG) but it was a very tight fit and took quite a bit of cursing and finagling. IIRC, I think I had to use a screwdriver as a lever to get the HG around the gas tube. Not particularly easy but I'm quite pleased with the result.

One of these days (if I ever feel like fighting it again) I'd like to make some cutouts in the gas tube cover to correspond to the slots in the HG. But that's just my OCD kicking in.

  5. If you're OK with the $200 tax and the disgusting wait, why wouldn't you? Most of the arguments on this site against NFA registration are based on ignorance, paranoia, and/or a profound misunderstanding of the law and the disposition of your average ATF agent. I've honestly never been on a gun forum as resistive to NFA registration as this one.tinfoilhat.gif

Yeah, if you're alright with the semi-gay not-a-stock arm brace then that is definitely the way to go. I can appreciate the desire to save $200 and avoid jumping through hoops. Many of us were quite surprised by the recent ATF opinion letter stating that it is legal to fire the arm brace off the shoulder because the product is not designed to do so (WTF?huh.png ). Now remember, ATF can and does issue opinion reversals from time to time on these semi-questionable products so that is a potential issue as well.

I wanted a more "authentic" shorty AK so I went with the classic underfolder. 032.gif This particular M92 was done before they were importing the PAP pistols, so it was built into a pistol in the US before I SBR'd it.
