    Wow, that's amazing.

I wonder if it's possible to install that gas block on a 308?

Yes this can be installed on a 308 with re profile of the BBL. I had to do the same thing on the PSL Scout. The barrel must be removed and stripped then put on a lathe or you can use DanZang's barrel tools to do the job but if I recall you would need two of them to step it down to the proper dia. I may be wrong but the lathe time is worth it.

  3. What we have here is CLEARLY a man who was talking out of his ass. Haveing had no direct contact with Mr Roberts and only briefly viewing his websight my comments were uneducated at best and harmful at worst. I apologise to Mr. Roberts individually and the forum community collectivly if anything I said in my prior post was disrespectful.

I do have a great deal of respect for those who are more talented than myself which sadly is almost everyone LOL. I myself am no great hand at gunsmithing, my own basic conversion will be passable, but nothing more and I fully intend to seek the help of professionals for the more complicated and delicate work such as bolt reprofileing/polishing, welding on any part of a firearm, and anything that requires more effort or knowledge than what is needed to preform the most basic of basic conversions.

That being said, I still think anyone can do a " basic " conversion, and indeed think everyone SHOULD do their own BASIC conversion if for no other reason than to better learn the firearm.

I apologise if I unknowingly attempted to sound more qualified to comment on the quality of another mans work than I truely am. In truth, I know very little, but hope to learn more.... Thats why I am here, and thats why I did my own conversion.

Trying to convay that was the intent of my origional comments in this thread... not to talk down another mans work.

    Thanks

    Waylon,

I do agree with you I recommend that most guys do a basic conversion as well. Thank you for the kind words.

  5. how much will you give me to take that wreck off your hands?

hmmm... I wonder if this is one of those pretty AR boys... All dem rails for tac stuff! Gotta keep it clean or it gets mad!

    I kid!

Oh yes I am one them pretty AR boys.

I have built many AK's boys, I have built many Saiga's my point is that if a company is going to remove the importer stamp and then repaint the flipping rifle take some care in doing so. Few have access to a blast cabinet, park tanks and then re finish with a Duracoat etc. Painting the hole gun and I mean the hole gun stock and HG but leaving the selector lever in place makes it a bit more work for some. I was just making a observation.

I think I may have a little Experience in the AK realm boys.......

    Here are some pretty AR's

  6. I picked up a 5.45 to do a full conversion AK100. The rifle was purchased threw RSR Group. On arrival and inspection I received one that had the RAA stamp removed by a crewed engraving technique that looks like a block on the right side and a new importer stamp located on the left side Mercury Hermes. I new i would need to deal with this and have on several Kvar S-12's I have seen in the past few months. What amazed me was who ever repainted the gun did such a poor job with no care. I say repainted and I mean this look like a Earl Schieb paint special for those who have never seen this it was or is a 99.99 special and they mask the windows and spray it. Any how it will be taken care of like always just wanted to say how amazed I am at the lack of not even detail but just poor QC.
