  1. Legion USA is proud to bring two new types of Vepr 12's that are 922r compliant, while still retaining the original look of this shotgun. Thanks to the use of US made floor plates we are able to sell these with the factory Vepr magazine. Our stock is running low, so do not miss your chance to own one of these authentic Vepr's with Russian markings on the receiver!

How is the birdcage hider attached?

  2. Yup it happens.

There might be some varying in the cutting of the slant back of the VEPR receivers.  It may very well be a variance of a few degrees.  It's not something you can eyeball from the factory either.  They cut the wood stocks to fit THAT rifle, they have no idea we are going to mod these later like we do.

You want higher QC so all the bone steel and all the carolina mods fit snug and with no gap?  Get ready to pay for it, cuz sadly, that's business.  It may not be right, but that's what will happen.

It's nothing a series of spot welds from a TIG welder, some grinding and filing it flush and a coat of cerakote can't fix if you're that worried about it.

Look at mine, it has gap, can't see it too well from my picture but it has gap.  But the important part for me is that the stock is 110% functional.  Zero wobble.  That's what counts in my book.

It's considerably more than a cosmetic issue, It doesent even properly support the grip. Im questioning the QC on that stock first, and absolutely the lack of customer support.

You know what, there may be some hope for this situation... it looks to me like something is forcing the stock to pivot/cant upward out of proper linear alignment thereby causing much of your gap. I suggest that you loosen all the mounting hardware and determine the contact points causing this interfereance. Then carefully file/dremel/shim as necessary for your best tight/flush fit.

You need to get the bottom of the receiver mount to pivot forward to close that gap. Your pictures only tell part of the story.

Is your grip nut binding against the adapter block and thus need some adjustment relief cut?

Are your tang screws pulling the rear of the stock upward and thus need to be shimmed downward?

Is the bottom indentation on the mount block too far forward thus contacting the receiver which in turn pivots the whole assembly?

Better close up pictures should tell the story.

Just a bit of feedback for those shopping for the very hard to fit VEPR rifles. Both of the folding stocks I bought are incorrectly milled. Where the stocks hinge is too thick. Because of that neither stock matches up well to either of my VEPR's. There is an 1/8" gap between the receiver and the slant cut on the stocks. That also leaves a gap at the bottom where the pistol grip attaches. Once attached there's daylight between the pistol grip and receiver do to the poor fit of the stocks. I don't know if they've ever tried their parts out on an actual VEPR, or if someone simply took or sent measurements, but the fit leaves much to be desired. These are very pricey stocks as well. Also their muzzle break detents are not wide enough to let the VEPR pin set. It does catch, but does not fully seat into place. Previously I purchased a slant cut adaptor from Carolina Shooters which was also a poor fit. I don't know who makes it for them, but I'm assuming measurements are just be tossed around.

If you are thinking of trying to get an exchange or refund, don't, you'll get ripped off.  Both CNC Warrior and Bonesteel Arms are not replying to any inquiries.

My wife and I got ripped off on a $350 order from Bonesteel arms.

Both of our stocks had the same huge gap, one had hinge slop, the other had a misaligned pin which blocked the lower mounting hole for the recoil pad.

Both stocks were sent back, and we never heard back.

It looks like either a bad batch or manufacturing was farmed out, and the problems piled on to the point of them not replying to clients.

    Good luck.

Holy crap! That looks like ass!

  4. Thanks to Alex at Legion USA, I finally have the VEPR-12s that I wanted from the beginning. I have had four others prior to getting these two, two fixed stock models and two Royal Tiger FSF models. While, they were all great guns, these are what I originally wanted with the addition of Russian markings, correct 16.9" bbl, railed gas block, and folding stock. Both have been made 922r compliant.

#1 has a flash hider permanently attached that I picked up quite awhile back. It looks like the Russian hider but is internally threaded for Winchoke choke tubes offering some flexibility. It has a total bbl length of about 18.5" it appears:

Nice setup. who makes the winchoke hider you have there?

  5. I think Pappa Zorro posted a pic of it in the other Legion thread but I think it is kinda hard to see. I don't really know what it looks like because it is gone from both of my guns.

Does it look like they replaced the rivets on your rear trunion?

  6. Call Alex at Legion and talk to him about options. I ordered a few VEPR-12s from him and had him change the muzzle devices to two of my choosing and paid a little extra to have his gunsmith remove the "safety" device that keeps it from firing when folded.

I would love to see a close up picture of the safety mechanism inside of the receiver.

  7. I did the math. I need to swap in one more US made part for my folder to be legal.

I pitched the product to a short run shop and and got a quote of $15ea, in black, shipped. This post is made solely to guage the consumer interest for an initial run.

No frills. Just a plain-jane mag baseplate to fit the Molot magwell-style mags. Anyways, it is a simple to install 922r compliance part that for the life of me I can't find for sale anywhere.

I plan to keep the factory handguards, grip, rear stock, AND use Molot mags. Unfortunately, that puts my count at 11 even with my US made GK-01 muzzle brake. Maybe for those of you that have the quad rail handguards or a US grip, this could give you the option to use a genuine GK-01, or whatever.

I'm not looking at selling these. I just presented the idea to a fabricator to save myself the time and trouble of making them myself and maybe help some others out.

PS: I think these could possibly fit the 030 Saiga if made with a larger retainer hole.

  8. I like my porkypine. I served my time in the Army and as a cop and had service weapons, now I like all my guns to look cool. At 5'11" and 235 lbs. weight is not really a huge concern for me. If I have to worry how heavy a gun is I can just start unscrewing thing cause shit got really real :-)

Until then I will stick with tacticool. Alos, if it were not for people like me to have stupid cool looking guns what would mad max carry into thunderdome?

Hells yeah! I wouldn't want to get stuck with that hotdog sticker!

But now my battery powered chainsaw bayonet is the shit. super_man.gif

Try "Tantal," he might have some left.

I thought he was no longer doing business...

He's still on the ak forum. I bought one of the ones he had specially machined for replacements about a year ago.

Folks seem to be pretty happy with the sub-$100 microdots from Primary Arms. They were sold out for some time, but are recently back in stock.

  10.

Kobra all the way. I doesn't cause it to jam like some others I've tried. Yes it happens. Mount whatever you put on there from midway to the rear of the dustcover, not up toward the front. Maybe something really small would work like the Docter but I don't have one to try.

I own a Kobra with a picatinny base.... Know where I can get a new on/off knob??? I went to turn it on one day, and it sheared off!!!

You gotta be shittin me. I have the same one and the same damned thing happened to mine. Please let me know if you find a replacement. I have three others with the side mount but they don't help much with the Vepr 12.  sad.png
