Fucker!
I'm on vacation this week. Maybe I'll drive up there so we can discuss this.
Hopefully they'll be here by then.

NOT!
:haha: :haha:
I'm still on the lookout for the big brown truck of happiness.

All gone.

Someone asked me bout getting a 108 with the sight rail.
They were worried about the rail being a problem when doing a conversion.
Can the rail be removed?
If so, is it difficult or worthwhile?

If the 3" barrel worked, it would be a nice size to mount a suppressor.
20 round drum.... slugs..... and a suppressor.
Add in those HK sights and think it'd be pretty damn sexy.

I am thinking to myself that this was either a dumb question, or this simply isn't a question you guys are interested in answering...... If this is a dumb question please excuse me!!
It is a matter of adding the folding mechanism for the ace stock.
I like the folder myslef.

Robinson Armament had a friction hinge folding stock for the AK.
They fold at an angle so you can operate the charging handle with ease.
They fold out with the flick of the wrist and lock right up.
They stopped selling for the AKs but they still sell them for the XCR's.
Play with an XCR at a shop and you will see what I mean.
They are very cool stocks.
If you liked them, I bet Robinson Armament could hook you up.

The way it's done on the SPAS would mean you'd want to do it to an unconverted saiga now that I think about it. Probably just buy a real SPAS-12 stock and see if it fits folded. I have a fake SPAS and a real Saiga, I guess I could check if there's clearance.
The PITA would be getting the stock.
Spas-12 parts are as scarce as hen's teeth.
Took me years to find a push button safety.
I think you'd need to come up with a custom adapter to mount the stock high for the hinge.
The next problem would be how it would affect the sight picture.
You'd be too high up for the stock sights and the HK sights would get in the way.
I'm not saying it would be impossible, it'd just take some thought.

Congrats!

Opinions on best (cheap but reliable) ammo for Saiga-12? Buckshot, not slugs or bird...
Thanks
Remington OO Buck at Wal-Mart is pretty cheap.
Wolf may be a good bet if bought in bulk.

I would strongly suggest that anyone interested in owning any class III weapon look into transfering on a trust. There is no CLEO signoff, no fingerprints, no pictures. Quick and easy.
How do you go about this?
Are there any cons to forming a trust?

So where in Maine do you live?
Hancock County.
Close to Acadia National Park, but not on "The Island".
I do get a good look at all the tourists coming through though.
-
I made a sawed off shot gun when I lived in Maine.
The Maine state constution basicly says they have to sign the paper work. "the righ to bear arms shall never be questioned" in Maine.
If you live in summerset county they will sign your form 1 for any thing.
I droped my form 1 off at the sheriffs office and they signed it and mailed it back to me in less then a week.
Every thing is legal in maine.
Thanks 748!
That's good to know.

How bad is the SBS paperwork to deal with.
Does anybody have any input into getting a conversion done?
Are you refering to doing the conversion and paperwork yourself or do you mean having the work done by a dealer?
I was unaware that you could do it yourself.
The biggest PITA would be threading the barrel for the poly-choke.
I think the smith here can.

YEEEAAAAAHH!
It worked on the first try.
Thanks Mike!!!!!!

Are the Galil charging handles self fabricated or are they sold somewhere?
My charging handle is a PITA when the stock is folded.
.....my conversion is almost where I want it......
-
Now I see what all the wait is for!!!!
Do you have different models that come with each SBS build?

If you use a pan, just make sure to cut the edges off and you should be fine.
If the plate gives, you should be free of ricochets.
Be careful.
Gives cause it is hanging from a chain or metal gives? How am I going to cut the edge off a cast iron skillet?
Gives cause it is hanging from a chain or propped up, yes.
As for the cutting, do you know anybody that works at a garage or a machine shop?

Didn't quite mean it like that.
I've been waiting like everyone else, didn't think everyone would be that uptight.
