  1. For description, see: http://www.gunbroker.com/auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=23546399 I love this gun and don't want to sell it, but its the only way I can continue to finance my Bullseye pistol hobby. Hopefully I'll be able to get another one soon. In the meantime, I'm offering my 7.62x39 Saiga for sale. I bought this gun this summer, and I have put approximately 200 rounds through it. I've also got some Barnaul 7.62x39 ammo for sale, too at: http://www.gunbroker.com/auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=23582377 I have some more Barnaul ammo besides what's in the link, I just haven't h
  2. Thanks for your input, fellas. I'm hearing alot of good things about Lake City surplus ammo. I'm leaning towards that choice right now. D
  3. 41 views. No replies. 1 vote. Was it something I said?
  4. I was shooting at the family farm. Rest assured I swept all the computer bits into a trash bag before I left. Still, the clean-up didn't spoil the fun. D
  5. You are right. I've had great experiences with the cheap foam stuff. I was out, though, so I bought a $10 "advanced" pair of inserts that my gun dealer recommended. I think I'll buy some more cheap foam inserts.
  6. I like Barnaul ammo for my 7.62x39. What ammo works best in the .223 version?Has anyone tried the IMI surplus stuff? Thanks, David BTW, answering this is very helpful. I used the results in the similar poll on the 7.62x39 in selecting my favorite ammo for 7.62x39 (and avoiding the problem choices and wasted $). Thank you for your opinions. D
  7. Fired my 7.62x39 Saiga for the first time this weekend. Some observations: 1) This gun rocks! Its simple to use, and built like a tractor. No wonder AK's are used all over the world. 2) This gun is accurate. OK, I know its not a sniper rifle, but just plinking around it fired consistently in the same place from shot one. 3) This gun is loud! Using the little ear insert hearing protectors was not enough. My ears are still ringing. 4) This gun is fun! I had an old computer hard drive that a virus had shut down and needed erasing. Mark down 1 new use for a Saiga: permanently erasing an old
  8. tenqu and hartzpad, i am totally drooling over your rifles (and hartzpad's cz-52). Wow! Good job, fellas. D
  9. I should be picking up my Saiga 7.62x39 rifle from my local FFL dealer in the next week (thank you Ak-47man.com for the great price). I want to hunt with this rifle (among other things). Which 5 round magazines can I use w/my Saiga and which ones should I avoid? Also, what online stores are the best for ordering these mags? Thanks, David
  10. Ordered a 7.62x39 from Ak-47man.com this week. Thanks for your replies. D
  11. It appears from reading members' posts that the .223 Saiga jams more or otherwise has more problems than the 7.62x39 Saiga. Since the rifle was originally designed for 7.62x39 (or at least it's daddy was) that makes sense. I was wondering how the reliability and function of the 308 rifles compare to that of the 7.62x39 rifles. Please share your experiences and observations. Thank you, David
  12. Who makes the best cheap ammo for your Saiga rifle? Also, who makes the worst? Thanks David
  13. jAK-47, Cool rifle! What can you tell me re: that scope? David
  14. Funny thing-Lots of folks rec the 12 gauge- I should have mentioned that the rifle purchase will be part of a shopping spree in the coming months that will include a 12 gauge. Another funny thing- last night I kept leaning away from my original choice of 7.62 (cheap to shoot, easy to maintain) to towards the .308 (not as cheap to shoot as 7.62x39, but military surplus still available and I would only have to buy one kind of ammo when I add a bolt action to the collection). Anyway, I'm enjoying everyone's input and will keep monitoring your advice. Thank you, David
  15. I'm buying my first Saiga (which will be my first centerfire rifle to own-I've borrowed my father's for years). Since this will be my only centerfire rifle, which Saiga do you recommend? I'll be using it for general purpose- hunting deer, plinking, home defense, etc., since my only other firearms are a .22 rifle and a .32 revolver I inherited. I'm fairly large (6'5", 220) and I grew up around guns. What do you think? Thank you, David
