I know I really wanted a PSL for awhile, but everyone I saw was a bit rough. Considering what gun shops were charging for one in that condition, I just didn't think it was worth it. To get my "PSL", I just took your standard .308, bought the Izhmash stock, and slapped on a POSP. I'm pretty happy with my decision, but maybe when I can afford a real dragunov I'll pick one up.
What's that rifle left of the Garand?

Guys, one quick question. After reading many of the postings on this forum, it appears that many of you are of the opinion that the 16" 308 is better than the 22". By better I mean, just as accurate but much lighter and easier to handle. I already have my 223 in a 16" and really want an accurate 308 semi at ranges out to and beyond 300 yards. I believe that the 22" is best suited for that purpose since the extra 6" should add to both velocity and stability. Has anyone here shot both 308 models at different ranges (from say 25 to 300 yards) and determined them to be equal in performance?

I also own both and AR and my Saiga and greatly prefer my Saiga for shots under 100 yards. I have never had a single failure with my Saiga, but my AR however has given me headaches. I find my Saiga far superior to my AR in every aspect. I am slowly converting it into my SHTF and home defense rifle.

Thanks for the info and the Avatar comment. I love Russian jet fighters. BTW, I placed a 22" 308 on layaway today. Come, December 18th or so, that baby comes home. I told my wife I really wanted an M14, but I just can't see myself spending over $1300 on any rifle. I have greatly enjoyed my 16" Saiga 223, and I figure that the 308 should be just as much fun, but from a littler further distance.

Anyone recommend a distributor for a sporter Saiga 308 in 20"?

I got me a tri-rail mount for my S-223 and am looking to get me a scope for shots out to 300 yards. I also plan to add a light and laser for quick, close targeting if necessary (Zombies at night). The nice thing about the tri-rail is that my iron sights are still viewable/usable, which is what I prefer out to 100 yards. I was thinking a cheap WalMart BSA scope would work well. Suggestions?

I'm sure he would stink. I was watching him when he was shooting and I know I saw him closing his eyes between shots, jerking and anticipating the recoil.

Finally saw the video. Those Liberians have really made a mess of their country.

Man, and you wonder why they can't hit a thing.

I did tell him about the Saiga 12. Before I could finish my sentence he brought up the Benelli M4 and how fast it can shoot. I informed him that the Saiga 12 is faster and can be had for $1000.00 cheaper.

AR's aren't worth their price. I own both and greatly enjoy shooting my SAIGA more than my AR.

I had a chance to shoot against a local peace officer yesterday at the range. He was using a stag arms AR-15. We both shot from 30 yards standing. He shot first and shot up the entire target. His shots were inside a 2 x 2 foot area. I then pulled out my Saiga 223. He immediately asked me what it was, I explained to him that is was sort of an AK. He then commented on how AK's aren't accurate. I smiled. So I fired my ten shots. All inside a 2 x 2 inch area. He was astonished. He kept asking how that was possible with an AK. I told him I didn't know, but that mine had always shot like that. That poor guy was baffled. The look on his face was priceless.

The 20" are hard to find. But not impossible. I'll be purchasing a 20" 308 in the next month or so. My 223 will be my SHTF home defense carbine and the 308 will be my white tail rifle.
best scope for under 300 yards for 16" 223
