  1. I have personaly wittnessed the Lage upper and other after market slowfire uppers produce randome run away's. This is the very thing they are famous for and that is exactly why I call the dangerous. Besides, a little practice and you will see that your old Mac is not so uncontroleable after all and you will be haveing more fun than you could have ever imagined. :killer:

    Macaholic,

I appreciate your admiration for the Mac guns. What has gotten you into trouble is the way you consistently fight against anyone who wants to modify their mac and the manner in which you conduct your "fight." You've really crossed the line above by labeling the Lage upper as "dangerous." My Lage uppers have NEVER given me a problem (I've had 3 of them). They are widely in use in the various subgun matches I've participated in and watched because they work. It is strange that you devote yourself to the mac in its stock form. In my opinion (note how I make that clear), the factory M11/Nine (I don't have any other macs) with its high rate of fire, crude, pot metal parts, and collapsing stock is unsafe.

  2. Bob can comment more directly, but that looks like the newer Tromix handguard Mr. Lage was telling me about. The gun I'm selling has the older/shorter Tromix handguard. It is new and without defects. Do you really need pictures?

Oh, I also forgot that the gun is marked Tromix (I paid extra for that).

If you'd like this gun, please email me at: a3enterprises@live.com in the next couple of days. At that point, I will be posting it on GB with pictures. Just offering it here to the saiga lovers first.

    Thanks,

  3. Hello,

This is my personal gun, but I can't bring myself to shoot it. I waited a long time on the list when this finally came up.

It is in perfect condition and has only been fired by Tromix.

    Built on a virgin IZ-109.

    Includes:

    Galil Charging handle

    HK Sights

    SRT trigger

    Folding Tromix Stock

    Tromix Galil Foregrip

    Saw grip

    Shark brake

    I'm looking for $1,550 +$20 shipping.

    Thanks,

    Jake

  4. I mill a slot in the bolt and mount a Remington 1100 style handle.

When I'm shooting it I don't notice the handle. But I really like maintaining my grip on the pistolgrip and charging the weapon. But I'm "old school" and some of my favorite weapons over the years have been left side chagers.

I'm with you; I don't think it would bother me to have a reciprocating CH, but I'd prefer one that didn't.

  5. Well, I sure like mine, but it's an FAL style handle, and doesn't reciprocate. I don't think I'd personally want a handle flying back and forth right in front of my face.

    I did it myself.

No, it requires the receiver and bolt carrier with bolt.

Did you get all the little bugs worked out on your FAL style conversion?

How great is the risk of the weld snapping, and a handle hitting your face (on the regular conversions)

I don't always have the best reading comprehension, either! Gunfixr's FAL CH is very cool in that it doesn't reciprocate with the bolt. No worries about the handle whacking you in the face.

  6. I happened to be looking at the Leapers/UTG website and saw that this rail is made in the USA...UTG PRO Saiga 12 Ga Quad Rail System.

I know we've got plenty of great rails already, but has anyone tried the UTG/Leapers made in the USA rail? Any good? I would really like a chart that compared the various forearm rail units out there in terms of weight, width, etc.

  7. Two point sling. My favorite is the VTAC padded version available here:

    (Link Reloved)

Mr. Lamb the man behind this sling has truly been there and done that. I've used this sling on a converted S12 with good results.

  8. I saw a couple new drums from Promag for the S12. One was a 20 rounder that looked very similar to MDArms' drum and another was a 12 rounder. Dealer pricing was suprisingly inexpensive. The 20 rounder had a thumb latch to bring the follower down a bit to aid in loading. Rear cover was clear on both drums.

  9. I was a little supprised when the owner of Viking Tactics who fought in some of the nastiest places for our country's most elite force told me he never used full auto when putting down the bad guys. Sure FA is used, but not really with shoulder mounted assault rifles. That being said, FA is fun!

  10. I've seen some of the posts about how easy it is to do a conversion. I'm just concerned about damaging the gun particularly since I'm not an expert in machine work. I do have personal gunsmith experience and have threaded my own barrels before, but I'm leaning toward doing a form 1 and making a Saiga SBS since my wife just bought me a Red Jacket Suppressor from Mississippi Auto Arms to go along with my conversion parts. Is this something I should definitely send out to one of the outfits doing conversions? I have all of the parts from MAA as well but was thinking I'd try to find a local gunsmith.

I'd have someone do a SBS that has done it before. There are some special techniques that must be employed.
