super_man.gif anger.gif greedy.gif  Tomorrow is going to be a gooooooood day.

  2. Update: ATF called the other morning, left me a message saying my fingerprint cards were missing information.... good to know my transferor is on top of his game*sarcasm*. I'll be making sure to leave bad reviews for him everywhere possible. This guy shouldn't be in business. Luckily I was able to give them my information over the phone. If nothing else, this was somewhat of an update, lets me know my paperwork isn't in a box on the floor anymore and is actually taking up space on someones desk.

  3. Of course it isn't rocket science to the check if the bore is concentric relative to the barrel threads either. Get a snug fitting rod and slide it down the bore from the muzzle end. Either brass or aluminum would work as both are soft enough to not harm the rifling. The rod will indicate if the bore is concentric enough to pass through the suppressor or is close enough to pass.

I'm not disagreeing, and I have no experience in metals, machining, or gun-smithing, but this almost seems TOO easy.

Those considering Palmetto State Armory can buy with confidence. Their shipping is a tad slow, but their product is excellent. You won't find better AR stuff for even twice the price. Great quality. Great price.

I'm really considering their 10.5, but it's in stock very sporadically. Not to mention the last time it was in stock the price was up to $370. It was very briefly in stock and on sale for $300 a while back, but God knows when that combo will ever happen again. I've got a line on a really good deal for an LMT 10.5, so ceteris paribus I'm ready to just spend the extra few bucks and grab the LMT.

My 1911 is better than your Sig

So, you trying to fight? boxing.gif

I was pointed in the direction of Radical Firearms out of Texas. They have a nice looking 10.5" upper, good reputation (from what I've seen), and consistently have it in stock.

    ETA: and it's regularly $280

  5. I voted for the 700. I've got one in .308 and enjoy shooting it. It's probably not the BEST gun for all things, but I'm still making my abilities up to ITS level. I'd probably pass on the SS version, but again, even that is probably more accurate than my abilities will test on the gun itself. The only thing I suggest (fairly common sense): don't skimp on the scope or rings. I tried getting away with using $15 scope rings and wasted probably $100 in ammo chasing zero.

My second vote would be for the Savage. I read nothing but good about their rifles, they're cheaper, and they hit what you're pointing at... hard to beat that.
