  1. If I had the gun here, I could tell what was wrong with it in 10 minutes, maximum. If it was me, I'd rather fix it myself than to worry about sending it back. If you have no experience with disassembling AKs, it will be a little bit harder to do, but it's not really hard. It may be more difficult obtaining a replacement spring(if it is broken), than disassembling the gun. I'll almost bet that the bolt hold open lever shifted enough so that the spring popped out of the groove that it fits in. AKATTACK

  2. OK, I thought it might be better to remove the top cover and measure from the inside of the sight block to the top of the sight. It looks to be about .405 of an inch to the TOP of the rear sight. AKATTACK

  3. You'll have to disassemble the gun to see what's wrong, my guess is that the spring for the bolt hold open is either broke or became dislodged. Have you got any experience disassembling an AK? If not, I'll try to walk you thru it and if we have to, maybe we can talk to the phone, or maybe chat on yahoo messenger if you have it. AKATTACK

  4. I'm gonna touch base with a certain supplier today to see if they have any in stock, if they do, I'll let everyone know. Tantal had some a few months ago, but I emailed him for a price list and he is out of the mags for the Saiga 12 now. I'll post something when I find out if the other supplier has some or not. 5. Cobra, I have an elevated front sight for my .410 on the way, I'll get the measurements when it comes in. Why didn't you order the rear sight that rusmilitary has when you ordered the front sight? AKATTACK

  6. stokstad, is the barrel of your gun already threaded? If so, you will soon be able to order the original muzzle brake/flash hider from here:Rusmilitary. Look in the "hot news", in the first paragraph. They are expecting to have them in stock very soon. If your barrel isn't threaded, I'm sure that you can have it threaded by a gunsmith. AKATTACK

  7. Thanks Tapperman!! Have any of you guys successfully removed them? I'm glad to hear this, I didn't really want to grind the sight off! Just in case I want to change it back, I don't know why I would, but I still like the option. AKATTACK

  8. GOB, since there are available muzzle devices(muzzle brakes from rusmilitary) for the Saiga 12s that are threaded, this would qualify the shotguns that have threaded barrels as having "the ability to accept a muzzle device" even if said device is not in place, therefore it might raise the accepted parts count on this model. I might be wrong on this, just wondering myself. Let me know what you guys think. AKATTACK

  9. Let me receive my sights and I'll see if I can come up with a way of installing them and I'll post it all with pictures. I wonder if one could install the sight, make an initial alignment with the bead sight that is on the gun, then shoot some slugs to verify the point of impact until it is properly aligned. Then mark the postion of the sight, move it, add a very small drop of unpermanent loc-tite(to the barrel and sight, not the screws that secure the sight) and then secure the sight? Then you could grind the other bead off the gasblock and use some touch-up paint on it. Just a thought-AKATTACK.

Edited to add: Cost of both sights in GBpounds-53.90 which is $100.81 USD. Then with the 20% discount, which would be about $20.00, the total is about $80.00 USD. My account was debited for $92.40, so that means that shipping was about $12.00!! Not too bad to have to cross the "big salt pond"!! AKATTACK

  10. Just as soon as I get them in, I'll mount them on both guns and start snapping some pics to get up on the board here. I e-mailed them yesterday and Oleg answered back to tell me that they would be mailed out today. Stay tuned, AKATTACK.

Edited to add: jtf979-check out the "base" page, read the 'hot news' section. They are also giving U.S. customers an additional 2.5 discount to help offset the effects of the "shrinking" dollar. That adds up to 20% off!
