  1. There's a gatling gun conversion kit for Ruger 10/22s that takes two rifles, pairs them up on a rig, and mounts a crank to them. Actually, it looks more like an AA gun. Anyway, the way those are laying there makes me wonder if anything like that rig has ever been built for AKs/Saigas.

  2. I am only really against Ak bullpups. If I wanted a short AK or saiga 12 I would get an SBR SBS. That said I just bought a bull pup specific magazine and have decided I really want an Aug or Msar STG556.

I have an STG-556. Absolutely amazing rifle, VERY accurate, and a whole lot of fun. It has the typical crappy trigger most bullpups have, but there are some aftermarket items available to resolve this. Personally, it doesn't bother me.

MSAR also has a great customer service dept. I had to send my bolt back due to a minor issue. A new bolt was returned in less than two weeks, along with a free side rail, and several free magazines. I can not recommend MSAR more.

  3. I just wanted to say, I wasn't going to email Greg at CSS and ask for a refund. I figured, I bought the drums before the sale, not even the same business (I don't think?), my loss, no big deal. To my surprise, he messaged me today and refunded me the difference in store credit (which I quickly used). CSS is an awesome business, and it's my pleasure to promote him across my other home forum, PAFOA. I hope I send a lot of folks to you, Greg. Thanks for everything today!

  4. Brand new Saiga owner here. I shot trap yesterday with it. Normally I use one of two shotguns, a Beretta 390 or an old Japanese Nikko O/U, and my scores are typically 20-23 per 25. With the Saiga bone stock, except for an MD plug and a 10 round ProMag, I was hitting about 50% or so using cheap Wal-Mart bulk crap. The gun cycled everything just fine. I have a feeling that with a little effort and practice, I'd be doing as good as I do with my usual trap guns.

Incidentally, I was trying some #6 shot in the Pro-Mag. The ten round PM feeds the light crappy loads with no trouble, but it doesn't want to feed the heavier stuff. It wasn't the gun, the mag was just too tight, and wasn't letting them pop up. Any solutions?

  5. I got an email saying that MD Arms was once again running a sale - $80 for a MD20 drum. I checked at www.MDArms.com and sure enough, 20 round drums for $80.

The email also promised double stack stick mags over the holidays.

Goddammit to hell. I bought two from CSS yesterday.

  6. Where do you all get to shoot birdshot willy-nilly?

    Just curious.

I'm going to have to break in my Saiga with slugs only. My club/range only allows birdshot on the trap fields which are now shut down for the year. They don't like the bird shot tearing up the target frames.

The only other exception is bowling-pin shoots, but those are slugs or buckshot, down to #4 IIRC.

I'm wondering where I could go and put a Remington bulk-pack through to test things out.

A friend's dirt pile. We need more dirt.

  7. I've dumped about 300 rounds of cheap WalMart stuff through it. I had three or four FTEs, otherwise it ran beautifully. I'm going to get a few hundred rounds of heavy stuff to break it in properly.

I don't know if the MD plug and the CQC can be used together or not. These are the two items I'm wondering about. The CQC came in a package with the rails and warthog and piston. I figure, if it works, great, if not, maybe in a future build, or maybe pass it on to someone who needs it.
