[Need a little advise on adding a brake]

For my 308 Saiga.. I did a post a long time back (like 2009) on threading it..

 

I did the 17 DIE and TAT from Dinzag.. and in an email asked him if he could take a 5/8-24 brake/comp I wanted and redo it to 17.. and he did.. he's got the shop to do it..

 

I then received my brake/comp back within a week that just went right on..

 

He also has accounts with a few places and can just order the brake you want and do it from their..

Well a customer saw the XD 45m and bought it from me..

 

So I went and got my Glock 30 (regular) for $460 (LE discount) and $20 shipping..

 

I then added Ameriglo (Trijicon) nightsights for $66 (cost)..

 

Still happy as its a 45 and I got my G30 back (so to speak)

Did you know that 2 or more sami-auto rifles in 5 days over 22 cal with detachable magazine must be reported to the ATF..

 

Now you all know 5.45 is like 21.5xxx and does not fit into the specs...

 

Why do you all think they are/may be trying to keep it out of the US??

So I am selling my Sig SP2022 (9mm) here at the shop..

 

So I picked up the Springfield XDm 45 Compact 3.8 Barrel Pistol with spare mag for $562 shipped.

 

Comes with one 13 and one 9 and all the 'gear'.. but I figured an extra 9 round mag couldn't hurt.

 

 

Its about 3/16" shorter on the slide and 3/8-7/16" shorter in height (when running the 9 round mag)

You pop in the 13 and your only a hair bigger in height than the SP2022 (Sig on top)

 

 

13+1 of 45 is nice.. and 9+1 for CCW should be fine..

Just got my FFL and the IOI covered this.. If the same person drops it off and picks it up 1 day or 100 (ex.).. no 4473 needed.

 

If I keep the firearm for repair overnight I must log it into my A&D book..

 

If someone other than the drop off'ee picks it up.. then a 4473 will be needed..

Just got my 01 FFL approved this week. 

 

I was informed your supposed to turn in 4473's and A&D books when you close to the BATF..

Have owned both in Saiga 'converted' format..

 

5.45 is more accurate.. like 1 1/2" groups at 100 yards with a cheap 6x scope..

7.62x39 is like 2 1/2 - 3" groups at 100 yards..

Sorry I forgot the LH and RH issue..

 

I would say LEATHER on the adapter maybe with gentle turns till snug.. if you don't intend on removing then RED loctite on the adapter may due the trick..

 

If your FSB had index pins they would lock in the adapter (like the std AK has on most FSB's)..

 

I would have emailed Dinzag and asked him before ordering the comp.. he may have been able to turn a smaller ID brake/comp to be 14LH  and then no adapter would have been needed.. he did it for me and my Saiga 308.. I sent him the brake/comp and he reworked it to thread on for me..

 

Sorry.. not to many adapting on these.. my 54R wasn't factory threaded so I just threaded mine to 5/8-24R from the gate myself.

How bout prepping (aka shims) the FSC30 and use that to tighten up the adapter.. it has a flat for tightening..

 

Thats how some plumbers tighten multiple fittings together anyway..

 

When you get the adapter snug the way you want then start clocking the FSC...

Cabin is about done. Got propane water heater and propane wall mount heater installed. Insulation done.

[Problem with IZ-332 + Bulgarian muzzle brake]

Take a digital caliper that has the TAIL measure on the handle and check the threading DEPTH on the brake.. may its bottoming out in the brake or the threads were not done properly inside the brake all the way forward..?? Maybe a TAP is needed on the brake..

Yes.. septic is planned for.. the water will be via 6 gal FDA type jugs (I have 4 currently) till I get a 275 gal tank from the .mil surplus centers.. I have a creek bed as well with low water table.. and bought a 3 stage filter to go with..

I did find a 6K BTU air conditioner for $175 with over 10.EER rating and only 4.8 amp draw..

Bought PEX/Sharkbite, Sink, RV 110-120V pump.. Small generator for backup.. Also got 100amp AC breaker panel.. Got 4 food grade 6 gallon water jugs for starters, romex and bunch of stuff..

 

 

Doing electric wire run 1st.. then plumbing and sink.. I also grabbed a small 2 burner LP stove..

 

 

And a new AR pistol build.. 11 1/2" Carbine.. was $680 total to build..

I'm doing 25 & 40 watt GMRS.. getting like 18 miles with it.. Also got a duplexer setup I am testing. 1 25w Mot GM300 for RX and 40w Mot SM50 for TX with 2 channel options for RX and PL codes.

 

Running 2 KW 805D's (user programmable from the front) and 3 GP350 (4w) 16 channel units..

 

Should be good when I can get the antenna higher up..

 

Granted GMRS will be clogged.. but where I will be, their will be NOTHING.. Lol

 

I think meds would be good to have and WATER that is not f'd up.

[Going w/ new stock, how important is cheek weld?]

I wanted to be cool and go with a PSL type stock on my old Saiga 308...

 

 

BAD idea.. The cheek weld was too low where I needed to get the proper EYE relief for the scope that I had mounted..

 

I ended up selling the stock and going back to my 'fake' Bulgy Folder.. and it worked SOOO much better..

 

 

Heres a 100 yard group from the S308.. God I miss this thing.. I was just ripping the trigger..
