  1. Already been done. Its called the Sig 550.

Not that it would be a bad thing to have on the market. The real question is what price it is available at and how quickly he can churn them out.

There are already plenty of high end solutions that solve the reliability problems of the AR or the accuracy problems of the gas piston guns. The real question is whether someone can compete with the mid-end AKs on price, produce MOA accuracy and still be reliable.

I dont doubt Tony's abilities, but this will probably be something fairly revolutionary for it to not have been attempted before.

  2. Unless your state has Castle Doctrine I wouldn't bet my lifes savings on attorney's fee's that your really safe defending yourself or your home.

Actually the common law rules in most jurisdictions are pretty close to the stand your ground stuff that the NRA is proposing. If someone breaks into your home and appears dangerous, I would say 90 percent chance that you can kill him in self defense. There are some jurisdictions where they will nail you with weapons charges for having a useable weapon handy (DC for example, or NY if you dont have a license) but regarding the actual self defense, every jurisidction I can think of permits it with little question.

  3. Any word recently? I havent received any notification (or any mags) yet.

Does anyone know what timeframe they should be ready in?

I dont want to give the impression I've grown impatient. I mean, I've already been waiting 2 years, so this isnt exactly an extraordinary hardship.

  4. Everything I used cycled well. I use S&B 00 buck because it is the cheapest.

My only worry is that leaving the gun loaded for a long time will deform the tops of the shells, but it hasnt caused reliability worries, even after months of sitting. Some members did report snags though. I wonder if loading the top round as a slug or a high-brass shell would prevent deformation.

  5. I tried it both ways and the traditional stock seems to hold my wrist at an odd angle. There wasnt any functional difference I could discern.

I have a tromix conversion with a super shorty skeleton stock with a recoil pad. I have no problems aligning with the irons or pointing the gun about. Very comfortable.

  6. That states "battle rifle cartridge" as 30cal...is a .223 not acceptable?

Around here, 7.62x39 counts as major. The cutoff point is 122 gr rifle cartridge. As in real life, the only downside to 7.62x39 compared to 308 is the long range performance.

  7. Yeah we all got the email.

Forgive me for not breaking out teh champagne when the status of the product goes from "not yet shipping" to "not yet shipping for a new reason." I've been disappointed so many times already that until I actually receive them I am not going to become celebratory.
