What I have noticed about my S12 and magazines is that the mag catch is not cut square. If I had noticed this before modifying all my magazines I would have preferred removing mag release and cutting/filing it square and to proper length. All magazines have had to have the catch tang on them filed to fit the mag release. Too late now and with plenty of magazines to keep me happy not going to change things now.
All 3 drums working perfectly once fitted. Makes shooting skeet fun. With loaded drums and a few AGP mags can get through a box of clays without reloading.

Lots and lots of steel shot. They require steel when shooting around registered water ways and for ducks her in AZ. Been using my S12 with 2 or 3 shot in 3" rounds depending on how the birds are flying. I do have the polychoke on it so I can tighten up the patterns a little. The polychoke has not given me any trouble with the steel shot either.

Here are some pics of the mods I had to do to fit the mags to my Saiga. Once done they fit and work perfectly. Should be mentioned that it took a few tries to get it right, did not want to take off any more than necessary.

I found that with all three of my drums I had to file just a little off the front sides so it would go fully forward. When I did this no other filing was necessary. I tried the step one and two on the first one and after a little filing and noticing no better fit I started looking elsewhere. Once I filed the front no problem. Did the same to the other two and did not need to do anything else except shoot away. Really scares the people at the indoor range I shoot at.

I picked up a G22 near the first of the year from a buddy who wanted to upgrade to the GSG5. The lower magazine capacity of the G22 and the difficulty in disassembly to clean turned him off of the rifle. They are a bullpup and if you don't like shooting bullpups this is definately not the rifle for you. Once they get broke in I have never found a HV 22 round that gave it any trouble.

I don't believe anyone has said that atlantic jumped ahead in line, in fact I went out of my way to say "I realize that Atlantic ordered them early as well". What you have missed is that say Joe Blow who just found out about the saiga, say a month ago, can now get a drum before those who put forth the funds to help make them come to be. I believe that some are taking these post as complaints rather than just observations. Of course anyone can do as they please with their order, last I checked this was America, land of capitalism.
You want another scenario similar to this that I have experienced and not so hot a topic on this board. I waited almost a year to get a Smart car. I was on the list from the dealers before most even knew they were coming to the US. Before I could get mine they were for sale to the public by private individuals and those who did not even know what a Smart car was had theirs before I had mine even though I again patiently waited my turn in line. Funny thing about the US you can get what ever you want if you through enough money around.
Again in a couple of months or so it really won't matter as hopefully this will all be behind us.

I agree totally. It seems just wrong that someone who might have just found out about the drums could get their hands on one before those of us who have waited patiently for some time and put forth the funds to see this project come to life. I realize that Atlantic ordered them early as well. It really is not about them making money on them, I don't plan on selling anyway. It just seems wrong but in time we should all have ours and be too busy playing with them to remember this.

yeah the spring broke just at the start of the first coil. I guess for now I will just remove the BHO and put a spacer in its place.
Hopefully a LRBHO
will be on the market soon and I can just replace it at that time. -
have been lusting after one of these for some time. If they become available here I will find a way to get one. FAR TOO COOL and probably the only AR action I would own.

While at the range today my S20 started to have issues loading rounds, never had any trouble before. At one point the S20 just locked up. When I got home I took the dust cover off and found the BHO spring had broke and the BHO was hanging up on the bolt itself. When I did the conversion I used the old spring. Is there someone selling this spring seperartely?

Thanks for the heads up. I have a couple of cases but have to date only used it in my O/U and pump 410's. I have always shot winchester 3" in the saiga but when that ran out I was planning on using the Noblesport. You did not indicate wether you used the 3" NS or not. I also have some of it and would be curious on its results in the S410.

I bought the 24" barrel so I could hunt with the shotgun. I have a polychoke installed and it works great for duck and dove, also works very well on jackrabbits. The finish on the S12 is much more forgiving when in the weather conditions of duck hunting. I don't know how the 19 would work. None of my friends bought the 19 for hunting purposes.

Whats this conversion business? returning the gun to its original design or making it your own creation
is it moving the trigger guard? can be or even replacing trigger guard and FCG
whats the point? enhance performance or looks or just to do it

I blocked my S410 with wood works great but the S12 did not respond as well. I picked up some of Cobra's magazine limiters and all it great in the bird world again, at least for me. Almost 100 dove the first part of dove season.

I use a Marlin 60 for varmint hunting (coyotes, foxes, bobcats) along with other small game. A good scope and it is good to go. I back up the rifle with a walther ppk/s 22 pistol for those close in shots.

I use Hanson Cartridge Companies Combat series 115gr hollow points in my Sig P6. Have shot over 500rds with no issues. The cavity is rather small but works well. I took a Javelina with one in the P6 last season, very effective.

Since I started using my S410 I rarely shoot any of my other 410's auto or not. I like my S12 but with its inability to handle 3 1/2" I had to have another auto for water fowl. I have an SPR453 (still russian). The SPR 453 adjustable gas system and its ability to handle any shot shell from 2 3/4 target loads to 3 1/2 magnum loads made it the only real choice. I shot a bennelli last year and hated it. The heavy shells were just obnoxious to shoot, might be a good gun in light loads. The berretta was a joke with heavy magnum shells, I would rather be kicked by a mule than use one. The S12 of course shot heavy 3" loads very comfortably just not the 3 1/2.
With dove season in full swing my poor S410 is getting a real workout. The guys I shoot with don't care for the 410 but have to respect that on many days I am limiting before them. I have not yet taken my converted S20 out to see how it does against dove. Before the season is over I know I will be out with it.

break barrel or lever cocking airguns are actions that move a spring and piston to send a column of air forcing the pellet out
pump action simply pump air to a resevoir to be released pushing the pellet out
and of course pressurized co2 canisters provide pressure to move the pellets.
If you are just looking to annoy the critters, then I would suggest heading down to your local big box store and picking up one of the pump style airguns. These will be available in bb and pellet. They lack accuracy but will last some time with minimal use and care. Any of the pellet rifles that will get over 1000 fps will certainly have the ability to kill the critters. With a pump type rifle similar to my sons crossman 2100 you can adjust the distance/accuracy by pumping fewer/greater number of times. With a resevoir of almost 200 bb's you can sit on the patio and shoot at them all night. The trouble with bb's is the loss of accuracy but that is made up by the cost. If you want the most accuracy you will need to experiment with pellets and rifles. My RWS really likes the crossman premier ultra magnum pellets but the crossman prefers the gamo raptors.
fo course there are cb caps for the 22 rifles that work well also.

Pick up an RWS 48 or 52. The side cocking action can not be beat and will not loose accuracy as the barrel break models do. I have a 52 with a 3x9 air rifle scope and can take small game at 75yds with ease. My RWS has been a great camp rifle to pick up those stray cottontail and squirrels that wonder too close to camp. If you so desire they also come in 22cal, though I have had no experience with that cal.
here is a pic of my RWS next to my sons crossman classic 2100 with a red dot scope (also effective on small game at much closer ranges) The 2100 is the pump style 177 pellet rifle.

sure would be nice to see some .410 love passed around. A drum would be just the ticket. Might even kick up the sales of the little gems if quality accessories were available.

I picked up my 870 police riot shotgun in 1980. The gun has performed flawlwessly for me over the years. This is still my preferred dove/quail 12ga, yes even obove my S12. I would venture to guess it has over 30k rounds through it. Hard to say exactly as I have run my reloads through it for years. I know if I could find another early 870 for under 100 bucks in above average condition I would not hesitate to buy it.

Polychoke and get in touch with cobra76 is you need to plug down the magazines. We have to run two rounds for migratory birds but 5 for all of our state animals. S12 makes an exceptional duck/goose gun.
