Ya, picked it up for $675, with not even one bullet down the barrel yet. Basically brand new (and the MSRP for a new new one is like 1100). I checked out the XTR rings, and they seem to be in my price range. However, I'm not sure as to what height I should order them in? That same question goes for a base too.

Just got a great deal on a savage 10fcp HS Precision, and was lookin for some advice on how to outfit it. I'm pretty set on a 10x42 super sniper mil-dot scope, but need advice on rings and mount(s). Also, if there's anything else y'all think I should look in to, I'm all ears.

Did the law change recently? I bought a stripped lower at a gun show a few years back, and it was treated as though I was buying a rifle (just typical check, and walked away with it in 20 minutes). Also, wouldn't putting a short upper on it make it an SBR, thus requiring a class 3?

Found a great price on a stripped RRA lower last week (this is in NC if that matters). However, the dealer insisted I must acquire a pistol permit in order to purchase. Keep in mind, a 20 inch varmint upper will sit atop said lower, as in not < 16 inches of barrel length. Has anyone ever heard of this restriction or is the dealer mistaken?

My vision is rather lacking, and I find the front sight to be overtly imprecise because of the shape. So would you consider the PK-AS to be superior to something like a Kobra sight? How is the PK-as at distance? (lets say 100 yards)

Shot my bulgy 74 last week, and it occurred to me that I need some optics as the iron sights just aren't cutting it for me. Any opinions on how to go about choosing something appropriate?
