  1. Why don't you stick to what you're good at. Converting Saiga sporters obviously isn't it.
  2. That's why i'm kinda gay on the 2/1 unit, although I would buy any 4/1 that came up too... The 4/1 tosses a very broad pattern, like so much that you are only hitting an intended target with a couple pellets. The 2/1 spreads it open so you are ensured to hit whatever it is that you're aiming at, but still delivers a 'payload' of shot. I would imagine that the 4/1 would be more popular since what's 'most' is always what's most popular, but the 2/1 seems way more practical as a working unit.
  3. I dunno if this model could be machined and welded given the intensity of the stresses that are involved. Might be, dunno. The shot diverters Madurski made a couple years back were all machined, but those were closer in design to a Vietnam era duckbill than this unit. Either way, you'll have these A&W's in your hands soon enough. If you do make them, I want in on the beta run.
  4. Yeah, I would imagine that if there is a 'model 4', that this is probably a 2/1. Got a link to that ebay auction? I can't find it. Nothing on google that hits on anything with a general search que - shot diverter - and "model 4" or "model four" as being relevant. Everything on "A&W Shot Diverter" or "A&W"+"Shot Diverter" or -shot diverter- + "A&W" doesn't bring up any such ebay auction.
  5. Could be a 4/1, could be a 2/1. I dunno. The model number on the box says 'Model Two', but I don't know what that means. I guess the 4/1 could have been Model 1 and the 2/1 been Model 2- or vise versa- the lower of the two spreads having the lower model number, while the broader of the two spreads had the higher model number. Information on the company and it's products is pretty much nonexistant, so deciphering the technical nomenclature is pretty much impossible from casual research. As far as someone tooling to make them, I know where the original tooling for them happens to be. A d
  6. Oh, and FYI, it isn't an "Atchisson Shot Diverter". It was designed by guys named Cliff Ashbrook (A) and Wilson Wing (W).
  7. Very, very difficult items. Pre 'internet age', so you won't find jack shit about them online. Made for a very short time by an outfit in Texas that called themselves 'A&W' in the early 1970's and then only a handful were manufactured. The thing with them is that they required a permanent install- they didn't just 'thread' on like a choke where they could be taken on and off, so they didn't sell to many and those that they did are all affixed by now. Some guy on suturmgewehr a couple months back had a NIB A&W diverter for $150. I about shit- emailed him, but missed it by o
  8. Yeah, he's a good guy. Very talented at what he does.

A few of each, but I am really anxious to see Z1500's magazines. I think those will be the shit.

    USAS12 mag guys

My fault for not posting an update. Just got tied up, shit happenz.
  11. I own one Benelli M1S90 and a 'few' S12's. If the Benelli M1S90 cost as much as the Saiga and the Saiga cost as much as the Benelli M1S90, I would still own exactly the same amount of Benellis and Saigas as I do now.
  12. Z1500- floorplate arrived. You're the man! I owe ya one!

    USAS12 mag guys

No, they went out later than later than expected, but they're all out now. Expect them sometime mid next week. Had some shit come up, they didn't go out that day and I got tied up last week. My fault, sorry. Bonehead me for not emailing an update. Believe me, if ya were getting fucked on the deal or if I was skating on anyone, I wouldn't be here talking about it (and I would have found a better vehicle to do it. Hmmm... Group Buy. Just found in warehouse- Saiga 12 sporters, $299 each. Only 100 available. $299 X 100... I could buy that M60 i've been pining after! Wait. Screw th
  14. Any 'muzzle brake' for a .45 ACP is placebo anyway. The .45 is too low pressure to compensate well.
  15. I don't think that's why Saigas aren't as popular as they should be. The reason for this is that people are totally fucking stupid. They don't have any critical thinking skills whatsoever. They simply react and repeat what they see others doing. What guns succeed and what guns don't all boils down to a social formula. It has nothing to do with what guns are 'the best', but rather what guns are in the right places at the right times, being used by the right people. Things like quality, innovative design, price- these things mean nothing as it relates to the eventual success or failure of
  16. Done screwed up and lost the attachment hardware for an S12 fore end. Let me know if you have a spare- thanks
  17. Can you install an unused A&W Shot diverter on a Mossberg barrel? Comes with the instructions.
  18. Take an Economics 101 class and then ask that question again.
  19. You're right. I am remiss in not mentioning that what I was talking about with high RPM is with the cheap drill press in question that usually have 2 or 3 speeds, the highest of which are the only ones that will get through the receiver. On a grown-up drill press, you don't need to go full bore.
  20. Very hard, sharp and good quality bits (No cheap carbon steel chink bit sets- they will get overheated and melt in 10 seconds- thin steel though it may be, the receiver is hard as fuck) Centerpunch (as deep as possible). Patience High RPM. Really, IMO, the receiver drilling is best left to those with better quality drilling rigs. If all you have is a small Charlie Chan $59.99 mini drill press you still can do it, but you definitely run a greater risk of winding up with egg holes and inaccurate hole locations (as those cheap presses with cheap bits for damn sure walk all over t
  21. Do you have anything to support this, or is it just one of those 'internet' things?
  22. My 2nd conversion ISN'T a uniform color, and I can say that it's probably the most handsome one I own. All of the external components (safety mainly) and topcover are regular 'Saiga' color and the receiver is a matte powdercoat. It has a contrast that looks really, really good with the black synthetic stock.
  23. Soon grasshoppa... They went out a touch late, BTW, but they're all in the system USPS 1st Class, fully insured with delivery confirmation and should be there any day now. As far as the actual process- now that I have had a bunch to look at- it ain't 'cake', but I would imagine it could be done with patience. Pics have been posted of those who have done it. The real issue is the width of the mag body has to be shaved, and a proper locking system installed.
