I've been on this quest the last couple years to go back and re-do my Saigas using better materials and techniques than I had years ago when I purchased and originally converted them.
Basically it consisits of removing bolted-on trigger guards and riveting AK models in their place, grit-blasting and Cerra-Coat or Gun-Coat the guns before reassembly, plus some updating of parts.
I noticed over the weekend after removing the safety stop plate from a .308 that there was moisture and a disturbing amount of rust to the receiver between it and the plate I had removed.
