Hello everyone. this is my first post. I recently purchased an IZ132 from a Dunhams in PA and looking to do a conversion. I cant seem to find the answer to my question in multiple forums or google. Is the bayonet lug supposed to be on the front sight post or gas block? Also does the cleaning rod free float or is it attached somehow? Basically i want to replace the gas block and front sight post with something more "original" and am confused on what I should be purchasing, and where to purchase it. I had an idea today and I wonder if anyone has tried it already. Everyone has seen the shark breaks and such that make a muzzle device such as a break or flash hider double as a sort of pronged bayonet-like weapon. I was wondering if anyone has grinded down the Vortex Flash Eliminator like so: My concern is that it would hinder the flash hiding ability. This would be unacceptable. In addition to grinding down the prongs to form sort of edged teeth prongs (probably sharpened), I was also wanting to grind down the extra thick neck because it seems thicker, and therefore heavier, than ne

So I have a IZ-332 model I converted and put some nice red furniture on. Then I got a WASR for a different project and it had a redish handle bayonet included, bonus. I have a bayonet lug, but I am assuming the sides have been ground enough, the bayonet doesn't lock. I have the rifle 'on display' so sitting there the bayonet looks nice, you move it and off it falls. Thought and found a way to fix the problem. I used a 'rare earth magnet' about the size of a PEZ candy, and slipped it onto bayonet in groove on bayonet, and position to be next to lug space. There some stell there, so it
