MINI SSS 0
I just bought my second .308 Saiga. First one was 16" synthetic furniture and the new one is the longer barrel with wooden furniture I would like to convert one of them. I'm looking for the elusive combo front sight/flashhider/bayonet lug. Does any one have an idea where this part can be purchased, borrowed permanently, or stolen? Preferrably in that order. Is the barrel difficult to remove if I want a local shop to tun down the barrel diameter for threading? John
O.S.O.K. 0
You have a few options - bulgarian front sight base threaded 24mm and bulgarian flash hider or romanian fsb threaded 22mm and a us-made flash hider. Both have bayo lugs so that you can attach the sticker. http://www.k-var.com has the fsb's and I think the flash hider for the bulgy. http://www.investmentgradefirearms.com has the us-made romanian flash hiders. You will have to ream-out the hiders to allow 7.62 bullets to clear. The barrel is held-on with a big cross pin that you can see back by the receiver on the front trunion. This must be pressed out and then the barrel can be pressed out. This is not hard if you have the jig to do it, otherwise is a little hairy. Edit - I just checked IGF - no us-made romanian fh's - must be another supplier- anyhoo - ask around... Edited June 20, 2006 by O.S.O.K.
