duker_sponk 0
Hello everyone. I am very new to this forum but not too new to shooting. I was looking at the conversion for the Saiga and I think I'm going to take the plunge. I have all the tools (I think) and I was just wondering what I should get in terms of a fire control group? I was thinking Tapco but I'm not sure. One can find US made pistol grips anywhere but it's when I get to the fire control group that I get hazy. Any suggestions on anything regaurding this conversion would help me out alot. Thanks.
devildog1122 0
The conversion steps is pretty straight forward. I didn't have any special tools. All you need is a drill, drill bits, metal file, punch and screw drivers. I order PG, Buttstock and FCG from www.k-var.com to save shipping cost. If you decide to reuse the hole where the spot weld is, I think that is going to be the hardest part to drill. For mine, I just cut the forward trigger guard straight and and use loctite steel & metal adhesive to glue it against the back of the magazine release. This way I don't have to drill unnescessary hol under the magazine release. The other thing members in this forum would recommend is to purchase a retainer plate for the trigger and hammer axis to replace the stock spring, buy some nylon plugs from lowes to plug up the holes where the original trigger sits.
